Brandon Nimmo Receives Gel Injection
Brandon Nimmo (knee) appears to have avoided a major injury, but has been shut down from baseball activities for a few days. Nimmo has been dealing with a lingering knee issue throughout camp. He underwent an MRI earlier in the week that didn't reveal any structural damage. The 31-year-old did receive a gel injection into his right knee on Saturday. The hope is that Nimmo can ramp up his activities after a few days of rest. Mets' manager Carlos Mendoza said he expects Nimmo to be ready for Opening Day. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor the situation, but they shouldn't be too concerned about this being a long term issue.

Brandon Nimmo Out Sick On Tuesday
Brandon Nimmo (illness) is out of the lineup on Tuesday against the visiting Arizona Diamondbacks with some sort of flu, according to Newsday's Laura Albanese. Nimmo is getting an IV and could be available to play off the bench. With Nimmo under the weather, Jose Azocar will man left field in Queens and will bat ninth against Diamondbacks left-hander Eduardo Rodriguez. It was a bit odd to see Nimmo out of the starting lineup a day after going 4-for-6 with two home runs and nine RBI, but now we know it's because he's not feeling well. Fantasy managers will want to check back on Wednesday to see if he's feeling good enough to return to action. Azocar has four hits in his first 10 at-bats with the Mets this year, but those playing DFS will want to avoid the 28-year-old Venezuelan out of the nine-hole.

Brandon Nimmo Sitting After Monster Day On Monday
Brandon Nimmo had a career day at the plate on Monday but finds himself on the bench for Tuesday's contest against the visiting Arizona Diamondbacks with left-hander Eduardo Rodriguez on the bump. Jose Azocar will start in left field and will bat ninth against Rodriguez. Nimmo went 4-for-6 with two home runs and nine RBI in the 19-5 thrashing of the Washington Nationals on Monday. It was a nice offensively explosion for the 32-year-old veteran, who is still hitting only .218 (24-for-110) on the season with 21 RBI and 13 runs scored. He ranks tied for 14th in MLB with his 21 RBI. Expect to see Nimmo back in the Mets' starting lineup on Wednesday. Azocar has four hits in his first 10 at-bats this year but will be a low-upside DFS play in the nine-hole on Tuesday against a pitcher he has never faced.

Brandon Nimmo Has Career Game
Brandon Nimmo put together an unbelievable performance against the Washington Nationals on Monday. Nimmo was quiet at the plate until blasting a three-run home run off Colin Poche in the sixth inning. He followed that up with a grand slam in the seventh inning. Nimmo wasn't done there as he smacked a two-RBI double in the eighth inning. Nimmo finished his day 4-for-6 with two home runs, a double, and nine RBI in the win over the Nats. Nimmo tied Carlos Delgado for the most runs batted in during a single game in Mets history. It has been a quiet start to the season for Nimmo, but maybe this is a sign that he's going to turn things around.

Brandon Nimmo Sitting On Tuesday
Brandon Nimmo will take a seat on Tuesday evening when the Mets continue a series against the Philadelphia Phillies. The Mets are scheduled to face Philadelphia southpaw Cristopher Sanchez. Nimmo has made just three starts against left-handed pitching through the early part of the campaign. Instead, the Mets will give Jose Azocar the start in left field. He will bat in the nine-hole. Nimmo has begun to find his footing as he has tallied at least one hit in each of his previous four games and five over his last six. Through 23 games this season, the 32-year-old has posted a modest .205/.253/.375 slash line with four home runs. However, under the hood, Nimmo has generated a 55.7 percent hard-hit rate with a .252 xBA, which suggests he should see positive regression in the coming weeks. Azocar is best to fade in DFS facing Sanchez, who enters this game holding a 2.96 ERA.
