Greg Jones Optioned To Triple-A
14 seconds agoThe Colorado Rockies have optioned outfielder Greg Jones to Triple-A. Jones was competing for a depth role on the major-league roster during camp. However, given his lack of production in spring training, the team will opt for him to continue his development with Triple-A Albuquerque. Jones made his MLB debut last season and tallied just one hit (a home run) across five at-bats. In 86 games at the Triple-A level last summer, the 26-year-old posted a .269/.346/.460 slash line with 17 doubles and 16 home runs. Jones swiped an impressive 46 bags but showed a poor eye at the plate as he held a 37:143 BB:K ratio. This was similar to the .278/.344/.467 line he held during his first taste of Triple-A during the 2023 campaign. If Jones can return to form in the minor leagues at the start of the season, he should be in the mix to return to the majors.
