Vincent Desharnais Shipped To San Jose
2 mins agoThe Pittsburgh Penguins have traded defenseman Vincent Desharnais to the San Jose Sharks in exchange for a 2028 fifth-round selection. Desharnais was traded to the Penguins earlier in January in a deal that sent Marcus Pettersson to the Vancouver Canucks. Desharnais appeared in 10 games during his time in Pittsburgh but did not get on the scoresheet. He logged 19 hits and 20 blocked shots while holding a -4 rating. During his first 34 games of the regular season in Vancouver, Desharnais tallied three points (all helpers) while adding 54 hits and 48 blocked shots. He held a -5 rating with 34 penalty minutes. Fantasy managers should expect Desharnais to have a depth role in the San Jose defense. Given his lack of offensive production, Desharnais only carries fantasy value in deeper formats that reward hits, blocks, and penalty minutes.
