Capitals Place Jakub Vrana On Waivers
14 seconds agoThe Washington Capitals have placed right wing Jakub Vrana on waivers earlier on Wednesday. Vrana has only drawn one start since the first week of January. As a result, the team decided to remove him from the NHL roster. Through 26 games this season, Vrana has scored seven goals and added four assists. He has held a +6 rating with 28 shots on goal and 13 hits. Ethan Frank has taken Vrana's spot on the third line and is now expected to remain there for the foreseeable future. The 29-year-old has scored at least 20 goals in two seasons of his career. However, he has only surpassed 15 goals in one of his past four NHL seasons. Vrana may draw interest as a depth option but given his lack of playing time, he will likely continue his season with the Hershey Bears.
