Kristian Campbell Seeing Time In Left Field
16 seconds agoBoston Red Sox second base prospect Kristian Campbell has seen opportunities in left field during spring training. The Red Sox are providing their budding star several opportunities to find a spot on the Opening Day roster. Even though the team brought in Alex Bregman through in free agency, the team still views Campbell as an option at the keystone. However, seeing that they are exploring alternative ways to keep him in the lineup suggests he is a favorite to make the Opening Day roster. Through the early part of spring training, Campbell has gone 1-for-14 with a single and a 2:9 BB:K ratio. The 22-year-old spent most of the 2024 campaign with Double-A where he posted a .362/.463/.582 slash line with 17 doubles and eight home runs. During his brief taste of Triple-A, the infielder posted a strong .286/.412/.486 slash line. If Campbell continued to see increased opportunities in the outfield, Vaughn Grissom should be in line to see a more significant role at the keystone.
