FanDuel NBA DFS Picks for Today (Tuesday 3/4/25): Daily Fantasy Basketball Advice

Jalen Brunson - NBA DFS Lineup Picks, Daily Fantasy Basketball

Welcome back RotoBallers! We’ve got a nine-game slate on tap for Tuesday, March 04, 2025, and it’s shaping up to be a wild one. With a mix of high-paced shootouts (looking at you, Bucks-Hawks at 243.0 Vegas total) and some injury situations that could shake up lineups, there’s a lot to unpack.

The key tonight (as always) will be staying glued to the injury news, guys like Alperen Sengun, Paul George, and Luka Doncic are all questionable, and their statuses could flip the script on lineup construction.

This article will provide my daily fantasy basketball lineup picks for FanDuel on 3/4/25. Remember to monitor NBA injury news and our awesome NBA injuries report tool, as the slate can completely change before lineups lock at 7:00 p.m. EST on FanDuel.

FanDuel NBA DFS Core Picks

These are your foundational pieces with strong matchups, high usage, and salaries that make sense for their upside.

Jalen Brunson - NYK - PG ($9,400)

Brunson’s been the heartbeat of this Knicks offense, and he’s got my full attention tonight. The Warriors roll into town with a defense that’s more “meh” than menacing, 17th in defensive rating and 19th in points allowed to point guards over the last few games. They’ve been letting guys like Brunson dictate the pace and pick apart their backcourt, which plays right into his hands.

He’s been on fire lately, averaging 26.1 points and 7.4 assists over his last five, and his 29% usage rate jumps even higher when Karl-Anthony Towns is off the floor (currently questionable with a personal issue). If Towns sits, Brunson could flirt with 35% usage, pushing his shot attempts north of 20. The game’s 232.0 total and tight 4-point spread scream competitive, and at $9,400, he’s got a 40+ FanDuel point floor that’s pure cash-game gold. For GPPs, if this turns into a Brunson-Steph Curry duel, we’re talking 50+ upside.

Giannis Antetokounmpo - MIL - PF ($11,700)

Giannis versus the Hawks is the kind of matchup that DFS dreams are made of. Atlanta’s defense is a mess, 18th in defensive rating, 27th in points allowed per game, and just 12th in rebounding rate. They’ve got no answer for a freight train like Giannis, who’s been bulldozing teams with 30.9 points, 12.1 rebounds, and 5.9 assists per game over his last handful of outings.

The Bucks are favored by 6 with a slate-high 124.5 implied total, and this game’s projected pace (102.2) is the second-highest on the slate. His 35% usage rate is already elite, and with Atlanta’s frontcourt lacking the size or athleticism to slow him down, he’s got a clear path to 60+ FanDuel points. Sure, $11,700 stings the wallet, but you’re paying for a ceiling that can single-handedly win you a GPP. In cash games, he’s your anchor; in tournaments, he’s your ticket to the top.

Alperen Sengun - HOU - C ($9,100) (if active)

Sengun’s back issue has him listed as questionable, so you’ll need to camp out by your phone for the update, trust me, it’s worth it. If he plays, this matchup against Indiana is straight-up delicious. The Pacers rank 27th in rebounding rate and 19th in defensive rating, and they play at a top-10 pace (6th overall), giving Sengun plenty of chances to pile up stats.

He’s been a walking double-double machine, 19.1 points, 10.5 rebounds, and 4.8 assists per game with a 27% usage rate that reflects his role as Houston’s top offensive option. At $9,100, he’s priced just right for a 45-point floor in cash games, with 50+ upside if he gets loose in this pace-up spot. If he’s out, Jalen Green ($7,300) becomes the go-to with a massive usage bump,, think 30+ points potential, so have that pivot ready. Either way, this Houston-Indiana tilt is a DFS playground.

Anthony Edwards - MIN - SG/SF ($9,600)

Edwards is in a smash spot tonight, and I’m all over it. Minnesota’s a whopping 13-point favorite against a Philly team that’s limping in with Paul George (groin) and Tyrese Maxey (back) both questionable. If either, or both sit, the Sixers’ backcourt is Quentin Grimes and a prayer, and Edwards should eat them alive.

He’s been torching defenses, averaging 27.6 points over his last five with a 31% usage rate, and he’s rounding out his stat lines with 6 rebounds and 4.6 assists. Priced at $9,600, you’re getting a 45-point floor that’s rock-solid for cash games, and if this game stays tighter than Vegas thinks (or if he goes nuclear early), 50-55 FanDuel points are in play for GPPs.

FanDuel NBA DFS Tournament Pivots

These are the GPP gems that might not draw the heaviest ownership but have ceilings that can catapult you up the leaderboards.

Pascal Siakam - IND - PF ($8,000)

Siakam’s been humming along under the radar, and I’m betting this Houston matchup could be a breakout moment. The Rockets sit at 20th in pace and 19th in defensive rating, and they’ve had a tough time containing forwards who can score inside and out. Siakam’s averaging 20.6 points and 7.3 rebounds with a 24% usage rate, and he’s been trending up lately, dropping 23+ points in two of his last three.

With Alperen Sengun questionable (back), Houston’s frontcourt could be a step slower. The game’s 229.5 total and tight 4-point spread hint at a back-and-forth affair, and if it turns into a track meet, he’s got 45-50 FanDuel point upside written all over him. At $8,000, he’s priced like a mid-tier play but brings top-tier potential, perfect for GPPs where Tyrese Haliburton ($9,300) might steal the spotlight. This is a spot to zig while others zag.

Dyson Daniels - ATL - SG/PG ($7,800)

Daniels is the sneaky GPP play I can’t stop thinking about. He’s been a Swiss Army knife for the Hawks averaging 13.9 points, 5.6 rebounds, 4 assists, and a knack for piling up steals and blocks. Now, he gets the Bucks, who play at an 8th-ranked pace and rank a porous 27th in points allowed per game.

Milwaukee’s defense has been generous to combo guards, and Daniels’ recent 34+ minute role shows Atlanta trusts him to make plays. The 243.0 game total is the slate’s highest, and with Trae Young ($9,400) likely soaking up heavy ownership, Daniels could fly under the radar at $7,800. His floor’s a respectable 30 FanDuel points, but if he catches fire in transition or racks up defensive stats, 40-45 points isn’t out of the question. This is the kind of low-owned ceiling that wins tournaments, don’t sleep on him.

Franz Wagner - ORL - SF/PF ($8,500)

Wagner’s got that “take over the game” vibe right now, and Toronto’s the perfect punching bag. The Raptors rank 16th in pace and a dismal 24th in defensive rating, and with Gradey Dick sidelined (pelvis), their wing rotation is down to RJ Barrett and scraps.

Wagner’s usage is a sky-high 31%, and he’s been torching defenses with 25+ points in four of his last five, plus 5-6 rebounds and 4-5 assists for good measure. At $8,500, he’s not dirt-cheap, but he’s cheaper than the elite wings, and his 45-50 FanDuel point ceiling rivals them all. Paolo Banchero ($8,600) might split some ownership, making Wagner a GPP pivot with massive upside if this game stays competitive early. Love the spot.

Naz Reid - MIN - C/PF ($8,000)

Naz Reid’s stepping into the spotlight with Rudy Gobert out (back), and I’m here for it. He’s been a per-minute monster, 14.7 points and 6.1 rebounds on 21% usage, and now he gets a Philly frontcourt that could be running on fumes. Paul George (groin) and Tyrese Maxey (back) are questionable, and even if they play, Andre Drummond and co. aren’t exactly built to contain Reid’s inside-out game.

Minnesota’s a 13-point favorite with a 118.3 implied total, and while the 223.5 game total isn’t elite, Reid’s expanded role (think 35+ minutes) keeps his ceiling alive. He’s dropped 20+ points in spot starts before, and at $8,000, he’s a bargain compared to centers like Sengun ($9,100) or Towns ($9,500). Ownership should stay low with flashier names in play, but if Philly’s shorthanded, Reid could flirt with 45 FanDuel points, I'm thinking think double-doubles with a few blocks sprinkled in.

FanDuel NBA DFS Value Picks

These are the budget-friendly heroes around $6,000 who can stretch your salary cap and help you jam in those high-end studs.

Aaron Nesmith - IND - SF/PF ($5,200)

Nesmith has been quietly turning heads, and I’m loving his spot tonight against Houston. His minutes have jumped to 29+ per game lately and he’s making the most of it, averaging 9.7 more fantasy points over his last 3 games. The Rockets play at a 20th-ranked pace and sit 19th in defensive rating, which isn’t exactly a lockdown unit against wings like Nesmith.

His 16% usage rate isn’t flashy, but in a game with a 229.5 total and a tight 4-point spread, he’s got a clear path to 25-30 FanDuel points if he hits a couple of threes and grabs some boards. At $5,200, he’s a cash-game dream, with  5x value easily within reach,  and a low-owned GPP dart if Pascal Siakam ($8,000) or Tyrese Haliburton ($9,300) draw the chalk. This is how you unlock roster flexibility without sacrificing upside.

Wendell Carter Jr. - ORL - C ($5,400)

Carter’s back in the groove and this Toronto matchup has me grinning ear to ear. He’s been logging 25-28 minutes consistently, up to 28.1 over his last three, and delivering 9-10 points with 7-8 rebounds like clockwork. The Raptors rank 16th in rebounding rate and 24th in defensive rating, so they’re not exactly slamming the door on bigs like Carter.

Orlando’s favored by 7 with a 108.3 implied total, and at $5,400, he’s a steal for a 25-point floor, I'm thinking double-digit points, 7+ boards, and maybe an assist or two. If you’re punting center to stack guards like Brunson or Edwards, Carter’s your guy. He’s safe enough for cash and sneaky enough for GPPs if he pops for 30+.

Zach Collins - CHI - C/PF ($6,500)

Collins is stepping into the spotlight with Nikola Vucevic out (calf), and he’s ready to eat against Cleveland. He’s been a minutes monster lately, 35+ in his last start, and dropped 17 points with 5 rebounds and 4 assists, showing he can stuff the stat sheet when given the keys. The Cavs are tough, no doubt, 7th in defensive rating and 11th in rebounding rate, but they’re not invincible, especially with Evan Mobley out (rest), thinning their frontcourt depth.

Collins’ 17% usage rate jumps in Vucevic’s absence, and Chicago’s 116.8 implied total keeps him in play despite the 12-point spread. At $6,500, he’s not dirt-cheap, but his expanded role (think 30-35 minutes) gives him a shot at 30-35 FanDuel points. He’s a value stud for cash games and a GPP pivot if the chalkier centers like Sengun ($9,100) draw heavy ownership. Love the opportunity.

Chris Paul - SAS - PG ($5,700)

CP3 might not be the explosive kid from his Clippers days, but he’s still a steady hand you can trust. His usage is modest at 13%, but he’s been churning out 8-10 points, 7-9 assists, and 3-4 rebounds per game, quietly efficient at 28.7 minutes lately. Brooklyn’s 30th-ranked pace slows this game down and their 22nd-ranked defensive rating doesn’t scare anyone.

The Nets’ backcourt, even with Cam Thomas cooking, isn’t locking down savvy vets like Paul, who can rack up assists feeding Devin Vassell ($6,200) and the crew. At $5,700, he’s a cash-game safety net with a 25  to 30 point floor and a GPP salary saver if he hits a rare 35-point ceiling. With the game’s 225.0 total and 4.5-point spread, it’s close enough for him to stay relevant all night. Vintage value from a future Hall of Famer.
