Brayan Bello May Not Be Ready For Opening Day
18 seconds agoBoston Red Sox starting pitcher Brayan Bello (shoulder) may not be ready in time for Opening Day. Manager Alex Cora said, "He's behind. But I think he's been itching to throw for a while, so we took care of him, and hopefully doing that, he can actually not catch up." The manager noted, "We're still shooting for him to be on the Opening Day roster, but obviously it's March 2 now." Fantasy managers should continue to monitor his progression during camp as a minor setback could result in him opening the season on the injured list. The right-hander has been battling shoulder soreness during the early part of camp and was shut down for some time. Last season, the 25-year-old logged a career-high 162 1/3 innings and held a 4.49 ERA with a 1.36 WHIP. He tallied 153 punchouts and held a high 9.1 percent walk rate. When healthy, Bello will have a spot in the starting rotation.
