Shawn Dubin, Pedro Leon Dealing With Injuries
32 seconds agoHouston Astros right-hander Shawn Dubin (shoulder) and outfielder Pedro Leon (knee) are both dealing with injuries in camp, according to MLB.com's Brian McTaggart. Dubin has right-shoulder inflammation and has been shut down in spring training, while Leon has a Grade 1 MCL strain in his knee and will be out for a while. Dubin probably has a better shot at being ready for Opening Day in late March, but it's possible both players will have to open the 2025 regular season on the injured list. The 29-year-old Dubin posted a 4.17 ERA while striking out 49 and walking 26 in 45 1/3 innings for the Astros a season ago. Leon, a 26-year-old from Cuba, made his big-league debut in 2024 and went 2-for-20 (.100) with two steals and 10 strikeouts in seven games. When he recovers from his knee injury, he'll likely join Triple-A Sugar Land.
