Christian Moore Expected To Play At Second And Third Base During Camp
5 hours agoLos Angeles Angels infield prospect Christian Moore is expected to see time at second and third base during spring training. Moore was drafted with the eighth overall pick in last year's MLB Draft. The Tennessee product made an impact through his first taste of professional baseball last season and has a good chance to break the Opening Day roster. He made two starts with Single-A and tallied six hits (two doubles, one home run) with six RBI. The infielder was then promoted to Double-A, where he continued to flash upside. Across 23 games, Moore posted a .322/.378/.533 slash line. He tallied 29 total hits (four doubles, five long balls) and swiped two bags. He held an 8:29 BB:K ratio. With Anthony Rendon (hip) expected to miss significant time, Moore could find a role at the hot corner behind Yoan Moncada or at the keystone alongside Luis Rengifo if he were to make the Opening Day roster.
