Falcons Haven't Started Contract Talks With Matthew Judon
56 seconds agoThe Atlanta Journal-Constitution's D. Orlando Ledbetter writes that the Atlanta Falcons have yet to start extension talks with linebacker Matthew Judon. In his first year with the Falcons in 2024 after being acquired in a trade with the New England Patriots, the four-time Pro Bowler was a disappointment, collecting 41 tackles (25 solo), 5.5 sacks, seven tackles for loss, nine QB hits, his first career interception (which he ran back for a touchdown), and five pass breakups in 17 games (15 starts). The 32-year-old's 5.5 sacks were his fewest since 2020 with the Baltimore Ravens, when he had six. It wouldn't be a surprise if the Falcons let Judon hit the open market after his disappointing season, but he should still have plenty of suitors. Fantasy managers in IDP leagues definitely shouldn't be expecting Judon to return to double-digit sacks in 2025, regardless of where he's playing.
