Dynasty Fantasy Football Quarterback (QB) Sleepers For 2025 - Jaxson Dart, Brock Purdy, J.J. McCarthy

Jaxson Dart - College Football Rankings, NCAA CFB DFS Lineup Picks

Top 3 dynasty fantasy football quarterback sleepers for the 2025 season. Dynasty QB draft values and player outlooks for J.J. McCarthy, Jaxson Dart, and Brock Purdy.

The quarterback position in dynasty fantasy football is one of the most important to nail. It's so much better to find a QB who ends up being perennially in the top 10 than cycling your way through QB after QB, hoping one finally sticks, or busting in rookie drafts and being stuck with a player you don't like having to start.

Luckily, there are sleepers every year. Not all of them work out, but if you nail one or two of them over a few years, you can set yourself up nicely for years to come. And that's what I intend to help you do here. There are a few big sleepers here that you should make moves for.

Let's break down the three biggest value QBs you can get in dynasty right now. You'll want to make whatever reasonable moves you can for each, and perhaps even overpay because their values will be higher by the end of 2025, as long as they don't have terrible luck with injuries or things out of their control. Let's dive in!

Be sure to check all of our fantasy football rankings for 2025:

Jaxson Dart, QB, Ole Miss

The best quarterback in this year's draft class and one of the most underrated players in all of dynasty fantasy football is Ole Miss Rebels quarterback Jaxson Dart, who will enter the league through the 2025 NFL Draft. I've broken down in depth how Dart is this year's QB1 among the rookies.

He's the best processor, best at taking care of the ball, and, most importantly, best under pressure in the class. Both Cam Ward and Shedeur Sanders are much less capable of making good plays and avoiding negative ones when the pressure comes, and don't process as much information as Dart does during plays.

It's a bit wild that Dart is clearly the best QB in this class and he's ranked below both Sanders and Ward, but the NFL Draft community often focuses too much on what they believe a player can do and not what they're most likely to do. Ward is viewed as a bit more athletic and makes more plays out of structure than Dart, even though Dart can run and improvise very well.

Sanders is seen as more accurate, though accuracy in a clean pocket is nice, but only when the pocket is clean. Unless he goes to a team with an elite offensive line, he will struggle. My best pro comparison for him is Minnesota Vikings quarterback Sam Darnold if that helps.

Dart is a massive sleeper and is incredibly cheap in both rookie and startup drafts in dynasty this year. There is no reason you shouldn't pick him because he's massively underrated.

And the best pro comp I have for Dart is the next player on our list, San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy.

J.J. McCarthy, QB, Minnesota Vikings

Minnesota Vikings quarterback J.J. McCarthy will likely be the starter for 2025. And all he has to do is be better than Sam Darnold to be worth making a move for in dynasty at his current ADP. Generally, when players miss their rookie season due to injury, their values get pushed down. Add in that he was part of a stacked QB draft class in 2024, and he's pretty cheap right now.

He'll step into a magnificent situation for a signal-caller. Perhaps the best in the league. He'll have one of the best offensive lines in football that was genuinely elite until its left tackle, Christian Darrisaw, suffered a knee injury and was ruled out for the rest of the season.

It's not hard to imagine that an offensive line that tricked the entire world (well, most of it) into portraying Darnold as a good QB is immensely good. It will be the perfect scenario for McCarthy to show off the skill that won him a national championship in college. He was underrated entering the NFL as well.

Also, one thing that nearly everyone is overlooking is how great of an athlete he is, and that he possesses a genuine rushing upside. That will give a big boost to his fantasy value. The rushing upside is huge for quarterbacks and makes Lamar Jackson and Jayden Daniels much better fantasy scorers. In addition, forcing defenses to respect a quarterback's legs opens up more holes in coverages for the passing game to thrive.

He has some serious wheels and showed them off on multiple occasions. He's a lot faster than most people seem to think. But none of his runs capture his top speed like the clip below, where he not only chases down RB Blake Corum from behind but easily dusts him to try to make a block to open up more space ahead of him.

McCarthy is an elite fantasy option that you can get for extremely cheap right now, and his value by the end of 2025 will be way higher than it is right now as long as he can stay healthy.

Brock Purdy, QB, San Francisco 49ers

It's a good time to make a move for Purdy. His 2025 will likely be significantly better than his 2024. His struggles this past season were almost exclusively not his fault. There's some long-term concern with the offensive line, but it's not unfixable. You should hope they invest in the offensive line in the draft, though.

The 49er Way is defined by two major tenets. The first is that they will choke in the Super Bowl because head coach Kyle Shanahan always finds a way to choke in the Super Bowl. The second is that they will regularly be decimated by injuries. That's partly also Shanahan's fault because he consistently cheeses NFL injury reporting rules and allows his players to play through serious injuries.

And we saw that in action in 2024. Terrible luck struck with season-ending injuries to WR Brandon Aiyuk and RB Christian McCaffrey. Purdy spent most of the year without his RB1 and WR1. Also, WR Deebo Samuel Sr. got pneumonia and just wasn't the same afterward. And the offensive line was in a horrible state, especially with star left tackle Trent Williams missing games due to injury and being 38 years old.

Purdy is one of the best quarterbacks in the league at succeeding despite bad offensive line play because he is one of the league's best sack avoiders. Staying away from sacks is an art, and it gives your offense a massive boost.

So even if the OL problems don't get fully fixed, he should have a much better season when his WR corps is healthy. And WR Ricky Pearsall will likely break out in his second season as well.
