Ryan Burr Dealing With Shoulder Tendinitis
15 seconds agoToronto Blue Jays right-handed pitcher Ryan Burr (shoulder) is battling shoulder tendinitis and has "backed off" from throwing. Keegan Matheson of MLB.com noted that Burr has begun playing catch but will hold off from throwing for some time. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor his status, as he may only need to be sidelined for a brief period. Last season, Burr posted a 4.13 ERA and a 1.26 WHIP across 37 2/3 innings of work. He tallied an impressive 47 strikeouts with a modest 8.6 percent walk rate. He also generated a strong 3.56 xERA, which suggests he may see some positive regression when he returns to the mound. When healthy, fantasy managers should expect Burr to operate as a high-leverage option in the bullpen, as he saw most of his work in the seventh and eighth innings last season.
