Victor Wembanyama Expected To Miss Rest Of Season
1 day agoSan Antonio Spurs center Victor Wembanyama (shoulder) is reportedly expected to miss the rest of the season with a deep vein thrombosis, otherwise known as a blood clot, in his right shoulder. According to ESPN's Shams Charania, the Spurs believe this is an isolated incident. Normally, this is treated using blood thinners for a few months, then the medical team will likely investigate further to make sure the issue has cleared. Through 46 games, Wembanyama averaged 24.3 points, 11.0 rebounds, 3.7 assists, 3.8 blocks, and 1.1 steals per game. The Spurs will likely have to play a good bit of small-ball, so Keldon Johnson and Jeremy Sochan should see an uptick in minutes while the other two centers on the depth chart are Sandro Mamukelashvili and Bismack Biyombo.
