AFC Players To Buy In Dynasty Fantasy Football Leagues

Rashee Rice - Fantasy Football Rankings, NFL wr, Draft Sleepers

The offseason is the most important time for dynasty fantasy football managers to improve their teams. This could mean acquiring a star player who might be coming off a down year or trading away a top dynasty asset for multiple first-round picks. Many of those decisions will come down to how your team is currently situated.

In this article, we will look at five AFC players dynasty managers should be buying this offseason. Most of the players on this list can be bought by both rebuilding and contending teams in the coming months. These players listed below have also seen their dynasty value drop since the beginning of the 2024 season.

So, which five AFC players are must-buys in dynasty fantasy football leagues? Let's dive in and find out if these players are worth adding to your dynasty teams this offseason.

Be sure to check all of our fantasy football rankings for the 2025 playoffs:

QB Anthony Richardson, Indianapolis Colts

Acquiring Indianapolis Colts quarterback Anthony Richardson will not cost dynasty managers a whole lot this offseason. He was benched for a couple of games during the 2024 season due to some struggles, and the Colts will almost certainly bring in competition at the position for next year. However, Richardson is someone you should be looking to buy in the coming weeks.

He is just 22 years old and has the potential to be a solid fantasy QB1 for years to come. Of course, there's a lot that Richardson has to improve on this offseason to be that consistent quarterback, but it wasn't all bad for him in fantasy this past season. Once he regained the starting job in Week 11, he scored above 21 fantasy points in three of his final five starts.

That's why he's worth taking a chance on at this point in his career. His rushing will always give him a higher ceiling and floor than most quarterbacks, and Richardson is working with quarterback coach Chris Hess this offseason. Hess is the same coach who helped Josh Allen take that Year 3 leap back in 2020 by fixing his throwing mechanics. So, there should be some hope among dynasty managers.

Now, there's a chance that Richardson will continue to be a bust and lose his starting job again next season. But the tools and potential are both there for him to eventually be that fantasy superstar. So, trading for him right now while his value is this low could pay off in the long run. He has a higher upside in fantasy than most quarterbacks.

RB Breece Hall, New York Jets

New York Jets running back Breece Hall's dynasty value is surely down after a rough year running the ball. Hall averaged a career-low 4.19 yards per carry and only totaled 876 yards on the ground. That poor production resulted in the 23-year-old finishing as the fantasy RB17 in half-PPR formats.

Even though Hall had a down fantasy year in 2024, it might still be hard to acquire the young running back. He'll turn only 24 years old in May and just finished as the RB2 in half-PPR formats back during the 2023 season. But, if you can somehow acquire the explosive running back in dynasty, that's a move you should be willing to make 10 out of 10 times.

Hall is a top-5 dynasty asset at the running back position, and he always has the potential to finish as the overall RB1. With the Jets expected to move on from Aaron Rodgers this offseason, that should help his fantasy value in 2025 and beyond. That makes him someone dynasty managers should be looking to acquire this offseason.

Managers will likely need to give up a first- and second-round pick to trade for Hall this offseason. However, that is certainly a fair price for a running back who still has plenty of strong years left in him. Dynasty managers should expect him to be more involved in both the running and passing game in 2025 while continuing to put up consistent fantasy numbers.

RB Isiah Pacheco, Kansas City Chiefs

Kansas City Chiefs running back Isiah Pacheco has seen his dynasty value fall drastically since the beginning of the 2024 season. Pacheco has dropped 16 running back spots on KTC over the last 30 days, which is the second-biggest drop among all running backs ranked in the top 60. Only Rico Dowdle (19 spots) has seen a bigger drop at the position during this span.

Pacheco, though, is a great buy heading into the 2025 offseason. He turns just 26 years old in March and is the clear RB1 in this Kansas City backfield. As long as the Chiefs don't select a running back early in the 2025 NFL Draft or sign a running back like Aaron Jones in free agency, the former Rutgers product should be in for a strong season next year.

Part of the reason Pacheco has seen his dynasty value drop recently is because he didn't look like the same running back once he returned from injury. The soon-to-be 26-year-old only averaged 3.4 yards per carry in his final eight games (regular season + playoffs combined) and took a backseat to veteran Kareem Hunt on offense.

However, coming back from a broken fibula in the same season is not easy by any means. Pacheco wasn't going to put up the same stats that he did to start the season, and he surely couldn't handle a full workload. With a full offseason now, he should get his burst and explosiveness back. That means a top-15 running back finish should be attainable once again on an elite Chiefs offense.

WR Rashee Rice, Kansas City Chiefs

Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice has a lot going against him entering the offseason. For starters, he is recovering from a gruesome LCL injury that he suffered in Week 4 of this past year. Although he is expected to make a full recovery, that injury could limit him to begin the 2025 season. On top of that, Rice could still be suspended next year for his involvement in a car crash last offseason.

But all those reasons could help you acquire him at a discount in the coming months. He is someone dynasty managers should be looking to trade for this offseason. Before his season-ending injury in Week 4, Rice averaged 21.6 PPR fantasy points per game in the first three weeks of the season. That strong stretch came after he ended his rookie campaign by averaging 18.5 PPR fantasy points over his final six games.

Now, there is a chance that Rice faces a suspension next season, which would impact his fantasy value in 2025. Nonetheless, that potential suspension isn't going to hurt his dynasty value very much. He will turn just 25 years old in April and has shown his potential in his first two NFL seasons. Dynasty managers might have forgotten just how talented the former second-round pick is.

He is also attached to quarterback Patrick Mahomes and will continue to operate as one of his favorite targets in the passing game. Given that Travis Kelce will also likely retire within the next few years, Rice could be an even better fantasy option for managers in the future.

As a result, see what it would take to acquire the 24-year-old wideout coming off a season-ending knee injury.

WR Jakobi Meyers, Las Vegas Raiders

If you are looking for a cheap dynasty target this offseason, Las Vegas Raiders WR Jakobi Meyers should be someone to take a look at. Although the team's quarterback play remains an issue, that hasn't seemed to affect Meyers in years past. Last season, the 28-year-old caught passes from Gardner Minshew II, Aidan O'Connell, and Desmond Ridder.

Despite that, though, he totaled a career-high 87 catches for 1,027 yards and four touchdowns. That strong production made Meyers a consistent WR2 option in fantasy and helped him finish as the WR19 in PPR formats. He also averaged 15.8 PPR fantasy points over the final 10 weeks of the 2024 season.

It hasn't mattered much who has thrown passes to Meyers in his career, as he has put up solid numbers in each of his last four seasons. He has totaled at least 800 receiving yards in four straight years while finishing as a top-30 fantasy wide receiver in all four of those campaigns. That production shouldn't change much in 2025, either.

As a result, dynasty managers should be trying to acquire the wideout this offseason. You can get a reliable WR2/WR3 for relevantly cheap, and there's a strong chance that the Raiders do upgrade their quarterback room in the draft or free agency.

Imagine if Las Vegas goes out and signs Russell Wilson in free agency. That would be a big upgrade for Meyers' fantasy value in 2025.
