Cheap Dynasty Buys - Fantasy Football Trade Targets for Deeper Leagues

Chig Okonkwo - Fantasy Football Rankings, NFL Injury News, DFS Lineup Picks

While the NFL season just ended, dynasty football players know it’s never too early to start planning for 2025. There are always ways to gain an edge over your league mates.

Many dynasty leagues have deep benches, which can make finding players on waivers challenging. This means gamers must place a greater emphasis on trading to find potential difference-makers. It’s not always realistic to acquire already-made stars in a trade, so sometimes, you have to look at another manager’s bench to find overlooked players who have a chance to become quality players.

Make sure you’re following RotoBaller on X and check out RotoBaller.com for all your fantasy football needs. Here are five cheap players to buy in dynasty football leagues.

Be sure to check all of our fantasy football rankings for the 2025 playoffs:

Jalen Coker - WR, Carolina Panthers

Coker is an undrafted free agent out of Holy Cross. He latched on with the Carolina Panthers and began producing during the second half of the 2024 season. In 11 games, Coker posted a 32-478-2 line and showed an affinity for making big plays.

He legitimately looked the part of an NFL-caliber receiver and his underlying data backs that up. Among 100 receivers with at least 40 targets, Coker finished a respectable 43rd in PFF’s Receiving Grade.

Out of 169 receivers with at least 50 routes run, Coker finished 86th in Fantasy Points Data Suite's Average Separation Score. He fared better in this metric than the likes of Davante Adams, Jaylen Waddle, D.J. Moore, and D.K. Metcalf.

Coker's presence helped elevate Bryce Young and the team’s passing game down the stretch. He won’t be mistaken for Justin Jefferson anytime soon, but Coker is a solid player with room to grow into a very useful dynasty asset.

His price tag is also very cheap as he’s currently ranked as RotoBaller’s dynasty WR79. He shouldn’t cost much in a trade and is a great throw-in target as part of a bigger deal. Coker makes for a good late-round dart throw in dynasty start-up drafts as well. Carolina may have found a diamond in the rough here. Dynasty managers lucky enough to have him on their rosters could be in store for a nice surprise.

Jaylen Wright, RB, Miami Dolphins

Wright’s rookie season left a lot to be desired. He only carried the football 68 times for 249 rushing yards and averaged 3.7 yards per carry. Wright also failed to score a touchdown in his rookie year.

What makes him a good buy candidate is the fact he could be serving as Miami’s RB2 in 2025. Raheem Mostert struggled to stay healthy last year and didn't play well when he was on the field. Mostert averaged a career-worst 3.27 yards per carry and looked like a player in decline. Miami can cut Mostert this offseason and only incur a $1M dead cap hit. Given his play last year, the team might decide to move on without him. That would put Wright in a position to capitalize and become the handcuff to De’Von Achane. Wright could also carve out a role in the offense and offer some standalone value.

The sophomore back is more of an afterthought in dynasty leagues right now. The cost of acquisition will be low. Don’t expect him to challenge Achane for RB1 duties, but he could be a nice asset should Achane ever get injured. You could then keep Wright and ride the hot hand or flip him for more than what you paid.

Miami may add another back from the talented incoming rookie class, but Wright would likely have the inside track to RB2 duties given his experience in Miami’s system. A third-round pick might be enough to lock up Wright.

Chigoziem Okonkwo, TE, Tennessee Titans

Okonkwo was a popular sleeper pick two years ago, but he failed to deliver. Things looked the same for most of 2024, but he showed life to close the season. From Weeks 15-17, Okonkwo caught 22 passes for 182 yards on 28 targets. Per Fantasy Points Data Suite, he posted a 30% Targets Per Route Run (TPRR), a 2.19 Yards Per Route Run (YPRR), and a 24.3 % Target Share during that stretch.

It sounds like he has a realistic shot at retaining that kind of usage to begin the 2025 season. Titans coach Brian Callahan has cited Okonkwo’s growth and hard work as the reasons for his increased role down the home stretch last year. Callahan has also praised him this offseason as well.

Okonkwo is likely another manager’s TE2 or TE3, so he shouldn’t be too difficult to pry away. KeepTradeCut estimates his current trade value is a 2025 third-round pick. That’s fairly cheap to take a shot on Okonkwo hitting his ceiling. Expect to pay a little more in tight-end premium formats, but gamers would be wise to get him on their rosters. The fourth-year tight end could be poised for a career year in 2025.

Jordan Whittington, WR, Los Angeles Rams

News broke last week that Los Angeles will move on from star receiver Cooper Kupp this offseason. While Puka Nacua will remain the team’s clear WR1, there is plenty of room for another fantasy viable receiver behind him. Whittington flashed some potential as a rookie. It was highlighted in a seven-reception, 89-yard Week 5 performance against the Green Bay Packers.

The NFL Draft is only a few months away, and Los Angeles may decide to add a pass-catcher to replace Kupp. Whittington will need to escape the draft unscathed to have a realistic chance of becoming a reliable piece in the Rams' offense. The good news for him is that the incoming receiver class is one of the weaker ones we’ve seen in recent years. Los Angeles may decide to give the sophomore receiver a shot in 2025 as a result.

Whittington’s stock has been on the rise since the Kupp news broke. However, his price is still very cheap, and he shouldn’t be too difficult to acquire. You could also view Whittington as a nice throw-in piece as part of a bigger deal. Either way, it’s worth taking a shot on the former Texas Longhorn in hopes he becomes the Rams WR2.

Tank Bigsby, RB, Jacksonville Jaguars

After a highly disappointing rookie season in 2023, Bigsby showed signs of life in 2024. He ran for 766 yards and seven touchdowns in his sophomore season.

He looked the part of an NFL-caliber back and outshined incumbent starter Travis Etienne all year. Bigsby even finished higher than Etienne in Next Gen Stats Rush Yards Over Expected (RYOE), PFF’s Rushing Grade, and PFF’s signature Elusive Rating. It was pretty clear Bigsby was Jacksonville’s best back in 2024.

The previous regime (Urban Meyer and Trent Baalke) that used a first-round pick to draft Etienne is gone. Liam Coen takes over as Jacksonville’s new head coach in 2025. It’s unclear who Coen will use as the team’s lead back, so Etienne is by no means a lock to lead the team in touches. Bigsby outproduced Etienne last year, and if he does it again in 2025, Coen could hand the reins over to Bigsby similar to what he did with Bucky Irving in Tampa Bay last year.

Bigsby is currently RotoBaller’s dynasty RB44. He needs to survive the NFL Draft as there’s a chance Coen wants to handpick his own back from the loaded incoming running back class. Even with that risk, Bigsby is a great cheap option for managers in need of a running back.
