Trey Mancini, Diamondbacks Agree To Minor-League Deal
1 min agoVeteran first baseman/outfielder Trey Mancini and the Arizona Diamondbacks agreed to a minor-league deal on Friday that includes an invitation to spring training, a source told ESPN's Jeff Passan. The 32-year-old right-handed slugger didn't play at all in 2024 but has remained in shape and will now get his chance to resurface in the big leagues. Mancini last played in 2023 for the Chicago Cubs, slashing .234/.299/.336 with a career-low .635 OPS, four home runs and 28 RBI in only 79 games. He had a .276/.335/.485 slash line with an .819 OPS and 86 homers in his first four years with Baltimore before a cancer diagnosis that caused him to miss all of 2020. Since then, he's slashed .245/.318/.398 with a .717 OPS and 43 homers in three seasons with Baltimore, Houston and the Cubs. If Mancini makes the big-league roster, it will likely be as a bench bat for the Snakes.
