CBB DFS: DraftKings Daily Fantasy College Basketball Picks - Today's Top Lineups (2/8/25)

Cooper Flagg - CBB DFS Lineup Picks, NBA Prospects

There are 26 games across DraftKings tournaments today. The games are split up a little more with nine games in the noon main slate. The afternoon offering is the largest slate of the day with 11 games. We close it out in prime time with six games.

This should be another exciting and action-packed day of college basketball with most of the country's top teams taking the court! With three different slates, it's hard to get to all of the spots. We'll give you a few core pieces for each slate, some value plays to make them work, and those GPP pieces that have a high ceiling with a lower floor.

Here are my picks across all CBB DFS slates on Saturday, February 8 with the main slate starting at noon Eastern on DraftKings. The afternoon slate gets started at 3:30 p.m. with the late slate locking at 8:30 Eastern. The times changed a little bit for this slate.

Today's Main Slate DraftKings CBB DFS Lineup Picks

Best Matchups:

Baylor vs. Central Florida

Wisconsin guards vs. Iowa

Michigan guards vs. Indiana

Central Florida wings vs. Baylor

South Carolina frontcourt vs. Kentucky

Core Pieces:

Collin Murray-Boyles, South Carolina ($10K)

Murray-Boyles has erased an up-and-down start to his sophomore season with at least 45 DraftKings points in 14 of the last 17 games, including each of the last five. Statistically, Kentucky represents the easiest opponent for him in that stretch. Even though the production from CMB hasn't resulted in wins, he's still one of the most consistent options out there.

Keyshawn Hall, Central Florida ($9.8K)

This has become almost normal for Hall. Houston and Iowa State are the only teams to hold him under 30 DraftKings points since December 14. Those are two of the best defensive teams in the entire country, not just the Big 12 (16). Hall has scored at least 20 points in seven of 11 conference games. It's easy to clear 30 DK points when that happens.

Zakai Zeigler, Tennessee ($8.9K)

It looks like his knee is fine. Zeigler put up his seventh consecutive game over 30 DraftKings points in his return to the court against Missouri this week. Zeigler is one of the best creators in college basketball for himself and his teammates. He's a joy to watch, but I'm going to hate it this week since he's going to do it against my team. Another 30+ DK points is imminent.

Moustapha Thiam, Central Florida ($6.6K)

Thiam has a touch more volatility than others up here, but he has between 24 and 35 DraftKings points in seven straight games since his minutes increased. I expect him to be toward the higher end of that scale in a good matchup against Baylor today.

Value Pieces:

Andrew Carr, Kentucky ($4.8K)

Carr was injured in a game against Alabama on January 18 and is still trying to work his way back. His minutes were finally back to normal against Mississippi this week, and he put up 19 DraftKings points. I'll take that production from anyone under $5K.

Jalen Celestine, Baylor ($4.6K)

Celestine is mostly a scorer, but he still racked up 9.25 DraftKings points despite not scoring a single point against Texas Tech. That's the exception. UCF won't hold him scoreless. Celestine is always a threat for double-digit points. If the rebounding prowess is here to stay, we could get a big score out of him today.

Dayton Forsythe, Oklahoma ($3.8K)

Forsythe has played 67 minutes over the last three games for the Sooners, but two of those were blowouts. It remains to be seen what value he might have in a close game. He was solid in a seven-point loss to A&M, but this game also has blowout potential. Forsythe should see over 20 minutes again. He has scored 54 DraftKings points in those three games. That's a nice return for this price.

Slate-Breaking Potential:

Coleman Hawkins, Kansas State ($9.4K)

The alleged $2 million NIL deal is finally paying off in the Little Apple. This may not seem like a smart play, but the dirty little secret is that Kansas is not nearly as strong of a defensive team as many thought. K.J. Adams is the best Kansas defender and even he couldn't stop Baylor from rattling off 17 straight points in stun Kansas in Waco.

Besides, Hawkins' 44.25 DraftKings points in the first meeting at the Octagon weren't from points -- he only scored 15 actual points -- it was from ancillary stats. Can Hawkins put up 10 assists, seven rebounds, and a block again? Looking at that stat above, absolutely!

Dug McDaniel, Kansas State ($6.2K)

The other big NIL expense for the Wildcats is finally starting to pay off. The Michigan transfer has at least 25 DraftKings points in four straight games. Two of those were against Iowa State and West Virginia. He only scored seven points against Arizona State but piled up the rebounds and assists to still hit 30 DK points.

We may see the assist numbers or McDaniel rise if his shot isn't falling, which could, in turn, cannibalize the production of Hawkins. I don't know that I would run the pair together against a team like Kansas. Running one of the two could help separate your lineup.

Mackenzie Mgbako, Indiana ($6K)

The rise in Mgbako's production has to do with how teams are choosing to contain Oumar Ballo. DFS players are happy with Mgbako's production (109.25 DraftKings points over the last four games). Opponents are happy with the results. Indiana has lost all four games.

That's where the risk lies. If Indiana runs through Ballo no matter what opposing teams do, it could alter Mgbako's output. We saw Mgbako succeed alongside Trayce Jackson-Davis as a freshman. He should be able to play alongside Ballo as well.

Today's Afternoon Slate DraftKings CBB DFS Lineup Picks

Best Matchups:

Missouri guards vs. Texas A&M

Virginia guards vs. Georgia Tech

UCLA wings vs. Penn State

Illinois wings vs. Minnesota

Pitt frontcourt vs. North Carolina

Houston frontcourt vs. Colorado

Core Pieces:

Cooper Flagg, Duke ($11K)

What that post didn't mention is that Ben Simmons did that on a really bad LSU team. Flagg is doing that on a very talented Duke team. We'll call this week's line against Syracuse for what it was: a pedestrian line in a blowout. Flagg only played 28 minutes. That's about 10 fewer minutes than usual.

Clemson should put up more of a fight against Duke, especially with the game at Littlejohn Coliseum. We should see Flagg back to his usual 40s in DraftKings points in this one.

Will Riley, Illinois ($6.1K)

The freshman has forced the Illini's hand. He has started the last three games and put up 77 DraftKings points in that span. Riley has proven to be a consistent scorer who knows how to get to the line. He seems integrated into the offense now and finds himself in a good matchup against Minnesota today.

Henry Coleman III, Texas A&M ($5.4K)

In the good old days of 2023-24, Coleman was a staple in my DFS lineups. He was usually priced in this range and always put up solid stat lines. His role decreased this year, but with Solomon Washington now out with a leg injury, Coleman has played 60 minutes in the last two games, putting up 54 DraftKings points. Sign me up!

Value Pieces:

Mylik Wilson, Houston ($4.6K)

Emanuel Sharp is still out, and Wilson has 37.25 DraftKings points over the last two games, filling in the bench minutes vacated by Terrence Arceneaux taking Sharp's place in the starting lineup. Wilson is a solid producer but doesn't excel in any one spot. That makes him an easy value play to rely on.

RJ Godfrey, Georgia ($4.1K)

Godfrey is a starter in name only. He still only plays around 20 minutes per game. He has scored in double figures in three of the last five games, suggesting that Georgia may give him a few more minutes. They're going to need the scoring against Mississippi State.

Denzel Aberdeen, Florida ($3.8K)

Aberdeen started in place of Walter Clayton Jr. on Tuesday and racked up 20.5 DraftKings points. That was his fifth straight game in double figures. He could see an expanded role again today if Alijah Martin misses the game with his sore hip.

Slate-Breaking Potential:

Johni Broome, Auburn ($11K)

This highlights what one more year will do for Broome's draft stock. You need to be able to do these things to play in the NBA in 2025. I put Broome in this section because his ceiling is higher than anyone else in the college game. His floor is lower as well, but he has at least 40 DraftKings points in every game that he has played at least 25 minutes. No one else can do that.

Naithan George, Georgia Tech ($8.4K)

I have George here because he has four straight games with more than 32 DraftKings points. He cleared 40 in two of those, but he needed every minute of the triple-overtime thriller against Clemson to clear 40 this week.

Still, George isn't just a guy who relies on peripherals anymore. He has 74 points in the last four games despite averaging just over 11 per game on the season. This is a tough matchup against Virginia's defense, but if he can have a game like that against Clemson, he should hold his own against the Wahoos.

Ty-Laur Johnson, Wake Forest ($6.9K)

Johnson entered the starting lineup on New Year's Eve. Wake has gone 8-2 since that point. Johnson was known as a pass-first point guard at Louisville last year, but he has started to create his own looks as well. Johnson has cleared 30 DraftKings points three times in the last four games after not hitting the 25-point mark in the first 16 games. He has a measurable upside now.

Today's Late Slate DraftKings CBB DFS Lineup Picks

Best Matchups:

Mississippi vs. LSU

Arkansas guards vs. Alabama

Northwestern frontcourt vs. Washington

Core Pieces:

Great Osobor, Washington ($9K)

If you listen to anyone who really knows college sports, they will all tell you that incoming transfers need time to get acclimated. They need time to get used to savage road environments, especially those coming in from smaller schools. We saw a star last year in Coleman Hawkins have trouble in Manhattan for a while.

This is when those big NIL investments begin to pay off. We saw it happen in football at times, but it seems to be far more important in basketball. Why? Most of the basketball transfers were the big man on campus at their former schools. Now they often aren't even the best player on the team.

Such is the case with Osobor. He is the best player for the Huskies, but for the better part of two months, he didn't play like it. Osobor is coming around when they need him. He has at least 33 DraftKings points in six straight, including against good teams like Purdue, Michigan, Nebraska, UCLA, and Minnesota. We can trust him against Northwestern.

Johnell Davis, Arkansas ($7.7K)

The price of Davis soared this week but so did the production. He has 81 DraftKings points in the last two games against Kentucky and Texas. Now he gets a date against an Alabama team that runs like Secretariat. Davis could be in for a monster game.

Magoon Gwath, San Diego State ($6.3K)

Gwath is already the best rim protector in college basketball, but he is just now getting comfortable on offense. Gwath has 53 points, 31 rebounds, and seven blocks in the last three games. Look out world, we have another budding freshman star in a class full of them.

Value Pieces:

Taj DeGourville, San Diego State ($4.4K)

DeGourville is another talented freshman who is starting to come around for a young Aztecs team. The SDSU defense has been good all year. The offense is finally starting to catch up. DeGourville has at least 17 DraftKings points in five straight games.

Justin Mullins, Northwestern ($4.3K)

Brooks Barnhizer is out and Jalen Leach has an ankle injury that will affect him if he's even able to play. Mullins played 37 minutes against USC on Tuesday. He'll likely be in that neighborhood again here. He put up 25.75 DraftKings points in that game. He should do the same against Washington.

Miles Heide, San Diego State ($3.5K)

I'll be heavy on San Diego State tonight because they are so cheap. Heide didn't play much in the first six weeks or so, but he has played at least 20 minutes in three straight games with at least 11 DraftKings points in each one. His price opens up a lot of things and he shouldn't slip into single digits.

Slate-Breaking Potential:

Caleb Love, Arizona ($9.8K)

Love will remain a fixture in this area because the upside is so high. He has cleared 50 DraftKings points twice this season. The bad news is that he has 20 or less in four games. Love is always the cautionary tale because you never know what you're going to get from him.

Mark Sears, Alabama ($8.5K)

We are just two games removed from Sears going scoreless against LSU. That's why you'll never see Sears in my core picks again. LSU is not a great defensive team and the floor on Sears is much lower than last year. The ceiling is just as high, but there is a significant risk that goes with it in 2024-25.

Augustas Marciulionis, St. Mary's ($7.5K)

The floor on Marciulionis will always leave you wanting more, but there are very few players in this price range that can hit 40 DraftKings points. Marciulionis has done it three times this year.
