Deyvison De Los Santos May Start Season At Triple-A
16 seconds agoAccording to Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald, Miami Marlins first base/third base prospect Deyvison De Los Santos may open the season at Triple-A. Jackson noted that the young infielder needs to reduce his strikeout rate and will "likely" begin the season with Triple-A Jacksonville. Last season, the Marlins traded left-hander A.J. Puk to the Diamondbacks to acquire De Los Santos. The 21-year-old opened the season at the Double-A level and posted a strong .372/.426/.696 slash line with 14 long balls across 38 games. Then, in 99 games at Triple-A (split between Reno and Jacksonville), De Los Santos held a .264/.311/.523 slash line with 21 doubles and 26 long balls. However, he held a poor 22:108 BB:K ratio. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor his progression during spring training. He will likely compete for a corner infield spot alongside Jonah Bride, Connor Norby, and Matt Mervis.
