Garrett Hampson Inks Minor-League Deal With Arizona
37 seconds agoAccording to the team, the Arizona Diamondbacks have signed infielder/outfielder Garrett Hampson to a minor-league contract. Hampson will be invited to spring training. Last season, Hampson appeared in 113 games with the Kansas City Royals. The 30-year-old held a .230/.275/.300 line with seven stolen bases. Under the hood, he generated a poor .244 xwOBA and a .206 xBA, which suggests he will face some regression during the 2025 season. However, he did place in the 99th percentile in sprint speed. During the 2023 campaign, the utility bat held a .273/.349/.380 line with three home runs and five stolen bases. Fantasy managers should expect Hampson to compete for a spot on the Opening Day roster as a super-utility player during spring training.
