CBB DFS: DraftKings Daily Fantasy College Basketball Picks - Today's Top Lineups (2/1/25)

Ryan Kalkbrenner - College Basketball Rankings, NCAA CBB DFS Lineup Picks

There are 25 games across DraftKings tournaments today. The 10-game main slate is the largest starting at noon. The nine-game afternoon slate begins a bit earlier at 3:30 p.m. Eastern. The six-game night slate finishes the day at 8 p.m. EST.

This should be another exciting and action-packed day of college basketball with most of the country's top teams taking the court! With three different slates, it's hard to get to all of the spots. We'll give you a few core pieces for each slate, some value plays to make them work, and those GPP pieces that have a high ceiling with a lower floor.

Here are my picks across all CBB DFS slates on Saturday, February 1 with the main slate starting at noon Eastern on DraftKings.

Today's Main Slate DraftKings CBB DFS Lineup Picks

Best Matchups:

Arizona guards vs. Arizona State

Iowa State guards vs. Kansas State. It's Farmageddon and Hilton Magic all in one!

Missouri wings vs. Mississippi State

St John's wings vs. Providence

Core Pieces:

Ryan Kalkbrenner, Creighton ($10.2K)

DePaul is the only team in the last four weeks that Kalkbrenner hasn't hit 40 DraftKings points against. That's because he only played 26 minutes in the blowout win (and still got 33.5 DK points). This is a tougher matchup against Villanova, but Kalkbrenner had no problem hitting the mark against Providence and Connecticut. He should be right around 40 again today.

Jalen Leach, Northwestern ($6.8K)

The Wildcats have dropped six of eight games in January, but don't blame Leach. He has been the only consistent piece for Northwestern. He has between 25 and 30 DraftKings points in six consecutive games. We know exactly what we are going to get from him.

Tobe Awaka, Arizona ($5.1K)

Awaka is finally getting comfortable in the desert after coming down from the mountains of Tennessee. He has 70.25 DraftKings points in the last two games. One of those games was against a great Iowa State defense. Get him at this price while you can.

Value Pieces:

Dishon Jackson, Iowa State ($4.8K)

Milan Momcilovic is out again for the Cyclones leaving some extra minutes for Jackson. He recorded a double-double in 28 minutes against Arizona this week to go with two blocks, two steals, and an assist. With Momcilovic out, he should see 25-30 minutes of court time again.

Isaac Traudt, Creighton ($3.9K)

One of the best pure shooters on a team full of them, Traudt has scored in double figures in four of the last five games. He only played five minutes in the first meeting against Villanova, but that game was before Christmas when Traudt wasn't really part of the rotation. He has averaged 20 minutes per game since the calendar flipped to 2025.

Jabri Abdur-Rahim, Providence ($3.7K)

Jabri, the son of former NBA player Shareef Abdur-Rahim, has had trouble getting consistent court time after his transfer from Georgia. His role has stabilized with Providence adjusting to losing Bryce Hopkins for the season again. Abdur-Rahim has scored in double figures in three straight games. If his minutes continue to increase, he may get a few more shots up.

Slate-Breaking Potential:

Brooks Barnhizer, Northwestern ($9.3K)

Illinois shut down Barnhizer last weekend and Rutgers did a solid job against him this week. He only has two games over 45 DraftKings points in the last four weeks after piling up four in a row from mid-December until just after the new year. That highlights his ceiling. That ceiling is still there against a Wisconsin team that would rather run with you than defend you this year.

Caleb Love, Arizona ($8.2K)

How it started:

How it ended:

Love took over the overtime period and ended up with 22 points against one of the best defensive teams in the country. We haven't seen as many ceiling games from Love this season, but he's still capable of them. He nuked TCU for 58.75 DraftKings points on December 30. Who else in this price range has that ceiling?

Ryan Mela, Providence ($4.9K)

There is some risk to Mela today. Before the illness that cost him a game, Mela was playing 25-35 minutes per game. In the two games since, he is 1-for-13 from the floor and has played just 37 minutes. He has a solid game against the Johnnies the first time around in 22 minutes.

If Mela is back on track, he has great upside. If the illness is still wearing on him, he won't be what we need him to be.

Today's Afternoon Slate DraftKings CBB DFS Lineup Picks

Best Matchups:

BYU vs. Central Florida

Michigan guards vs. Rutgers

Georgia guards vs. Alabama

Duke frontcourt vs. North Carolina

Kansas frontcourt vs. Baylor

Core Pieces:

Cooper Flagg, Duke ($11K)

What that post didn't mention is that Ben Simmons did that on a really bad LSU team. Flagg is doing that on a very talented Duke team.

Flagg has at least 40 DraftKings points in seven of the last eight games. The game in which he missed the mark was a blowout win over Miami when he played just 28 minutes. Six of those seven games have been over 45 DraftKings points, with an impressive 62.5 against Notre Dame, marking the best freshman performance ever at Duke (42 points). Simply put, he's worth the investment.

Jordan Ivy-Curry, Central Florida ($7K)

If you're looking for a reason why UCF is suddenly in every game, look no further than Curry. He has 105.75 DraftKings points in the last three games. Two of those games were against top-10 teams in Kansas and Iowa State. His mid-January swoon is over and the price hasn't caught back up yet.

Rashaun Agee, USC ($6.1K)

Agee joined the starting five back on January 11. In the five games since then, he has between 24 and 29 DraftKings points in every game. He doesn't have a ton of upside, but he's a cash player's dream.

Value Pieces:

Mohamed Wague, Oklahoma ($4.4K)

Wague is shooting 78.6 percent from the floor this year. That's the good news. The bad news is that he has only taken more than two shots in a game twice this season. Wague is in there for his defensive prowess. Anything else is a bonus.

Tyson Acuff, Rutgers ($4K)

Acuff started in place of star freshman Dylan Harper because of an ankle injury on Wednesday. If Harper is out again, Acuff and Jamichael Davis split Harper's minutes with about the same production for the same price. You can use both if Harper is out and neither if Harper plays.

Devon Pryor, Texas ($3.3K)

I keep a close eye on the trends of bench players to find value. Value is all about opportunity. Pryor has played 30 minutes over the last two games after averaging nine minutes per game over his first 10 games of the season.

Most of those came in blowouts. Both of the last two games have been close. Pryor has played well enough to stay in the rotation. The stats will come as he gets more comfortable.

Slate-Breaking Potential:

Keyshawn Hall, Central Florida ($9.7K)

Hall put up big numbers like this last year at George Mason and few noticed. Most figured he wouldn't be able to do the same in the rough-and-tumble Big 12 (16). Iowa State and Houston kept the clamps on, but TCU and Kansas haven't been able to handle him. The ceiling is every bit as high as Flagg's, but the floor is lower.

JT Toppin, Texas Tech ($8K)

Toppin went nuts on TCU this week, so he may finally be "back." He has four games under 20 DraftKings points in January be it from injury management, illness, or foul trouble. The monster double-double against TCU was his second 40-point game of the month. He has topped 50 DK points twice this year and topped 40 another five times. The potential is always there.

Kanon Catchings, BYU ($4.2K)

Catchings became the first player this season to score more than 20 points while not missing a shot (8-for-8). The talented freshman has had a hard time cracking the BYU rotation, but he's earned some more court time with this performance.

Today's Late Slate DraftKings CBB DFS Lineup Picks

Best Matchups:

Cal guards vs. Syracuse

South Carolina guards vs. Texas A&M

Syracuse guards vs. Cal

Notre Dame frontcourt vs. Miami

Arkansas frontcourt vs. Kentucky

Core Pieces:

Markus Burton, Notre Dame ($9.4K)

Burton missed all of December after a knee injury against Rutgers in the first round of the Players Era tournament. He struggled from the floor in his first couple of games back, but he's back to the Burton we know of late. He has at least 30 DraftKings points in five straight games and broke 40 against Georgia Tech this week. Miami has struggled without Nijel Pack. This could be a big game for Burton.

Collin Murray-Boyles, South Carolina ($9.1K)

The freshman sensation from last year started slowly this year, but he is starting to remind us all of how good he really is. CMB has at least 30 DraftKings points in seven straight, topping 35 in six of those matchups. He hasn't hit 40 yet, but it's coming. He had 39 against Mississippi State and 38.25 against Georgia.

Johnell Davis, Arkansas ($6.1K)

The Florida Atlantic transfer played 37 minutes in place of Boogie Fland against Georgia last week. He played 36 against Oklahoma last weekend. His shooting is still not where we want it to be, but he has 52.75 DraftKings points in the two games in place of Fland. That's good production in this price range.

Value Pieces:

Karter Knox, Arkansas ($4.9K)

Knox has started each of the last two games, playing all but 11 minutes against Georgia and Oklahoma. His performances have been good enough (22 DK points and 17.5 DK points) to stick in the lineup. I'm chasing the minutes here. He has a high floor since he's on the court so much.

Arden Conyers, South Carolina ($4.5K)

Conyers has seen an increase in minutes over the last few weeks, but he sometimes struggles with efficiency. That's not a great combination when he plays just over 20 minutes per game. Morris Ugusuk had a game last week in which he played 20 minutes and had no stats. Nothing. He had three fouls in 20 minutes. He wasn't any better against Georgia this week. Ugusuk had two points in 21 minutes.

The playing time of Conyers may be attached to the success (or lack thereof) of Ugusuk, making him more of a risk than I like. However, he has cracked 30 minutes twice in the last four games. There is potential here.

Aidan Mahaney, Connecticut ($3.8K)

The former St. Mary's standout has struggled with his switch to the East Coast, but he's showing signs of life lately. Mahaney has 36.5 DraftKings points over the last two games in just 39 minutes of court time. These have been close games and UConn has needed his scoring. I expect Mahaney to play at least 20 minutes again, making him a strong value at this price.

Slate-Breaking Potential:

Matthew Cleveland, Miami ($8.9K)

Cleveland has carried this team on offense (except for the Duke game) since Nijel Pack went down. He has scored 91 points in the last four games alone while still putting up solid peripheral numbers. He put up 46 DraftKings points in a great matchup against Stanford last weekend. He could rival that here.

Mitchell Saxen, St. Mary's ($7.7K)

Saxen put up 26.75 DraftKings points in just 24 minutes against St. Mary's this week. If he can stay out of foul trouble, Saxen's ceiling is in the low 40s. The Gaels will need him if they have any chance of knocking off WCC bully Gonzaga.

Koby Brea, Kentucky ($5.1K)

Brea entered the starting five in place of Lamont Butler on Tuesday and racked up 31.25 DraftKings points while not missing a shot from the floor. Butler has already been ruled out of this game, so expect another strong game from Brea at a low price.
