According to Frank Seravalli, the St. Louis Blues placed left wing Brandon Saad on waivers earlier on Tuesday. The veteran will move to the AHL if he goes unclaimed on waivers. Saad was on pace to have one of the worst seasons of his career. Across 43 contests, Saad has scored just seven goals with nine helpers. He held a -14 +/- rating while averaging just under two shots on goal per game. Before being placed on waivers, Saad was held off the scoresheet in his previous six contests. However, prior to this cold stretch, the veteran began to slowly turn the corner as he scored three goals and three helpers over his previous four contests. Fantasy managers should expect Jake Neighbours and Dylan Holloway to operate as the top left-wingers in the offense.--Andy Smith - RotoBaller

St. Louis Blues left wing Brandon Saad had his best game of the season in Friday's matchup against Ottawa, scoring his third career hat trick in a 4-0 win. Saad tallied three consecutive goals after Brayden Schenn opened the scoring. He entered the game with a 19-game goal drought. It has been a strange campaign for Saad, as he has increased his goal tally with only multi-goal performances. The 32-year-old has not had much success on the offensive end, picking up seven goals and six assists in 34 appearances. A top-line role next to Robert Thomas and Pavel Buchnevich puts Saad in a good position to get going offensively, but fantasy managers definitely shouldn't bet on it.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller

St. Louis Blues left wing Brandon Saad will rejoin the lineup for Sunday's matchup against the Rangers. The veteran forward will be back in action after missing Saturday's 2-1 overtime loss to Dallas as a healthy scratch. Saad has not played well for the Blues this season, and according to NHL insider Elliotte Friedman, the team is looking to trade the winger, who has a $4.5 million cap hit on his contract, which expires with the 2025-26 campaign. Through 27 outings, Saad has mustered 10 points (four goals, six assists). Oskar Sundqvist makes way for him in the lineup on Sunday.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller

St. Louis Blues left wing Brandon Saad (personal) has been activated from the non-roster list and is expected to make his season debut on Tuesday against Minnesota. Saad has missed the first three games of the year to welcome a third child to his family. The veteran winger practiced on the top line on Wednesday. He is also poised for second power-play duty. As a player who's on the cusp of earning his 500th career point, Saad could do plenty of damage in a first-line role, although his effectiveness has been lacking on the offensive front in recent years. To make room for Saad on the roster, the Blues placed Alexandre Texier (upper body) on Injured Reserve on Monday.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller

St. Louis Blues left wing Brandon Saad (personal) will not be in the lineup on Tuesday as the team begins its 2024-25 campaign with a road contest against the Seattle Kraken. Saad hasn't traveled to the game with the team, remaining in St. Louis for the expected arrival of his third child. The Blues also visit San Jose and Vegas in the opening week, and it remains to be seen if Saad will be ready to link up with the team at some point. The veteran is slated to fill a middle-six role for St. Louis this season. Saad notched 26 goals and 42 points in 82 games last term.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
