San Jose Sharks goaltender Yaroslav Askarov stopped 29 of the 30 shots he faced en route to defeating the Pittsburgh Penguins on Monday evening. The Penguins had a slight edge in this shot total, but Askarov was able to lead the way. His lone blemish came in the final frame when Sidney Crosby found the back of the net on a backhand shot. This was a nice bounce-back showing for Askarov as he posted a 0-3 record over his previous four outings while holding a poor .852% SV with a 4.51 GAA. Before this stretch, Askarov posted a 3-2-1 record with a solid .921% SV and a 2.36 GAA. The young netminder will look to build off this outing as he will likely face the Seattle Kraken on Thursday evening. The 22-year-old remains an option for deeper formats, given his inconsistent play.--Andy Smith - RotoBaller
