Houston Texans running back Joe Mixon (ankle) was a surprise addition to his team's injury report ahead of his Saturday matchup with the Kansas City Chiefs. The NFL's Divisional round of their playoffs looms large, so Texans fans and those who are looking toward playing Daily Fantasy Sports are interested in Mixon's status.
He's had a resurgent season this year, rushing for 1,016 yards and 11 touchdowns and catching 36 passes for 309 yards and one touchdown in just 14 regular season games. He was able to find the end zone again in the Wild Card round of the playoffs.
So is Mixon hurt or healthy and will he play in the Divisional round? And if so, what's his fantasy football outlook?

Is Joe Mixon Hurt? Injury Update for Divisional Round
He's dealing with an ankle injury currently. He practiced in full on Tuesday, was downgraded to a limited practice on Wednesday, then failed to record any practice reps on Thursday. He may be dealing with an aggravation to the high-ankle sprain he suffered back in Week 2.

However, he's reportedly not expected to miss Saturday's game. Despite missing practice, it appears that the team is simply giving him the needed rest to get him as healthy as possible before a pivotal game against the Kansas City Chiefs.

He should suit up.
Joe Mixon Fantasy Football Outlook for Divisional Round
He may not be the best player to add to your Daily Fantasy Sports lineups. He'll be facing one of the toughest run defenses in the league, and his production fell off greatly over the past few weeks, in large part due to run-blocking issues -- the Texans have struggled along the offensive line all year.
This is the kind of run defense the Chiefs will need on Saturday. Expect Leo Chenal to be a key.
Chenal runs down the line, blows up a double-team, and then Jaden Hicks comes screaming down to help make the tackle with Mike Danna.

We expect Buffalo Bills running back James Cook, who's playing behind a much better offensive line and has scored 19 total touchdowns this season including regular season and playoffs, to have a better day than Mixon. they're priced similarly on FanDuel and DraftKings cash games.
So we'd prefer to roll with him.
