Towns might miss the special matchup against the team that drafted him due to a thumb injury. He exited the lineup for the fourth time this season on Wednesday versus Philadelphia. Jericho Sims started instead of Towns, finishing with eight points and seven rebounds in 23 minutes. Precious Achiuwa logged 30 minutes off the bench and had 10 points with six rebounds and three blocks.
