Adam Schenk Breaks Slump Ahead Of American Express
3 months agoAdam Schenk got off to a great start in 2025 at the Sony Open, finishing the tournament at 13-under par and securing a T6 finish. Before this impressive performance, Schenk had been in a rut. Over his last 15 starts on tour, he had made the cut in just five events, with his best finish being a T46 at the Shriners Children's Open. With what could turn into a putting contest this weekend at The American Express, Schenk doesn't model well in this area, ranking 136th on tour in three-putt avoidance and 95th in total strokes gained in putting since the beginning of 2024. He has also competed in this tournament seven times in his PGA career, missing the cut in four of those appearances. His best finish came in 2020 with a T14, during which he gained 4.57 strokes on the field in putting. Schenk certainly has momentum on his side, and at $6,900 on DraftKings, fantasy managers should carefully weigh the risk vs. reward when rounding out their lineups with him.

Adam Schenk Slumping Ahead Of John Deere Classic
10 months agoAdam Schenk is certainly a threat to contend on any given week, but it hasn't been pretty for the OWGR No. 57 recently. Since posting a T13 finish at the CJ CUP Byron Nelson back in early May, the 32-year-old Purdue alum has played in seven events, resulting in four missed cuts, one withdraw, and addition finishes of T64 and T55. He lost strokes ball-striking in all seven of those starts, and he's lost strokes putting in five-straight events as well. Schenk's course history at TPC Deere Run is volatile as well, as he's posted three top-10 finishes to go along with a missed cut and another withdraw in his last five appearances here. While it's ok to embrace volatility in PGA DFS, it's typically not a wise decision when paired with poor recent form. Fantasy managers should strongly consider keeping Schenk on the bench until he flashes a glimpse of the upside he has displayed over the years.

Adam Schenk To Continue Playing Well At Quail Hollow?
12 months agoAdam Schenk had an impressive performance at the CJ Cup Byron Nelson last week, finishing T13. This was his third top-15 finish in the previous four tournaments. He will play at the Wells Fargo Championship at Quail Hollow this week, although his history at this event has been mixed. In 2023, he missed the cut, but in 2022, he finished tied for ninth. Schenk has been doing well with his long irons this year, particularly recently. During the last 12 months, he has ranked in the 64th percentile in proximity to the hole on approach shots from 150-200 yards in the fairway, which is worth noting, as over 44% of approach shots at last year's Wells Fargo Championship were from this distance. Although Schenk has been in good form lately, his past course history may make him a risky pick for DFS lineups.

Adam Schenk Has Concerns Heading To Texas
12 months agoAdam Schenk was set up well for the final round at the RBC Heritage. Unfortunately, the American golfer fired a 73 which knocked him down to a tie for 49th. In his previous five tournaments, Schenk has shot at 71 or worse in four of them. His only good fourth round came at the Valero where he buckled down with a 67. Not surprisingly, that was Schenk's only Top 5 result of 2024. This long course in Texas is set up for birdies. Winners in the last five years have been in the 261-263 range. The last time Schenk truly put four solid rounds together was at the Par-73 Sentry in January.

Adam Schenk Trending Up Ahead of RBC Heritage
1 year agoAdam Schenk is enjoying an excellent stretch of golf heading to Hilton Head, and he's likely on the radar of the fantasy community as a result. The 32-year-old Purdue University alum enters the RBC Heritage on the heels of four consecutive made cuts, including a T19 at The Players Championship, a T33 at the Valspar Championship, a T5 at the Valero Texas Open and a T12 in his Masters debut last week. Of note, the self-proclaimed "grinder" has gained strokes across the board in his last two starts, including on approach which is typically not where he makes his bread. Harbour Town should mitigate his off-the-tee vulnerabilities, and he's one of the best short game players in the field, ranking 15th around-the-green, 11th in scrambling, and 10th in Poa putting. In a year with plenty of first-time and long-shot winners, it would not be out of the realm of possibilities to see Schenk chasing down first PGA Tour victory on Sunday, and fantasy managers should like his upside at a mere $7,100 salary on DraftKings.
