Taylor Moore's Struggles Continue Ahead Of American Express
23 mins agoTaylor Moore had a rough start to 2025 at the Sony Open, posting back-to-back rounds of 74 on Thursday and Friday to finish four-over and miss the cut by seven strokes. This marks his second missed cut in his last three events, with a T35 at the RSM Classic being the only bright spot during that stretch. While his recent form has been up and down, Moore entered the year with some momentum. In 2024, he made the cut in 22 of 29 events, registered eight top-25 finishes, and was the runner-up at the Texas Children's Houston Open. Despite the strong season, Moore has struggled in his past trips to La Quinta, missing the cut in 2023 and finishing T67 in 2022. To contend at this low-scoring tournament, he will need to avoid bogeys, something that has been a challenge, as he ranked just 101st in this category last season. Pete Dye courses, known for their abundance of bunkers, also place a premium on driving accuracy, where Moore ranked 127th on tour in 2024. With a modest price tag of $7,100 on DraftKings, Moore may be an option for fantasy managers, but given his recent form and struggles at this course, caution is advised before adding him to lineups.
