The first two events of 2025 have seen Davis Thompson begin slowly. The American golfer blew up at The Sentry with a 78 before bouncing back. Last week at the Sony Open, Thompson started with a 70 and 69. As a result, he missed the cut. Thompson had a three week run where he netted a Top 10 at the US Open, nearly won the Rocket Mortgage then won the John Deere Classic. He vaulted into the Top 50 in the World Rankings. Thompson did have trouble at times overall but when he puts the putting and strokes together, look out. He is a golfer that can shoot in the lower 60's even at La Quinta potentially. Again, if Thompson gets hot early, he is a bet to potentially contend. --Chris Wassel - RotoBaller
