Houston Texans wide receiver John Metchie III (shoulder) was back on the practice field on Wednesday after missing Tuesday's session due to a shoulder injury. The 2022 second-round pick out of Alabama could play a meaningful role in the postseason after season-ending injuries to Stefon Diggs (knee) and Tank Dell (knee). In Houston's final three regular-season contests, he totaled 16 targets, nine receptions, and 89 yards. Pro Bowl wideout Nico Collins is the clear No. 1 option in C.J. Stroud's passing attack, but assuming Metchie is ready to go against the Los Angeles Chargers on Saturday, he's a candidate to see several opportunities through the air.--Jackson Sparks - RotoBaller

Houston Texans wide receiver John Metchie III was the second option in the Houston passing offense on Saturday, catching four passes for 28 yards in a 32-12 victory against the Los Angeles Chargers. The Alabama product was targeted eight times, which tied receiver Nico Collins for the most on the team, but brought in only half of them. With Stefon Diggs (knee) and Tank Dell (knee) both out for the season, Houston has yearned for another receiver to get in the mix behind Collins, and Metchie seemed to be the preferred next man up on Saturday. The victory assured Houston will have at least one more game with a Divisional Round date to be decided.--Nick Piotrowicz - RotoBaller

Houston Texans wide receiver John Metchie III (shoulder) is officially active for Saturday's playoff game against the Los Angeles Chargers. Metchie opened the week as a non-participant but was able to upgrade each day, ending the week off with a full session on Friday. However, the wideout was unable to avoid a questionable tag. With Tank Dell (knee) sidelined, fantasy managers should expect Metchie to operate as the No.2 wideout this afternoon opposite of Nico Collins. Metchie carries some intriguing upside in DFS formats, as he could see a high volume of targets, especially if the Texans are trailing in this contest. He is worth a look as a high-floor WR3.--Andy Smith - RotoBaller

According to the team, Houston Texans wide receiver John Metchie III (shoulder) is listed as questionable for Saturday's playoff game against the Los Angeles Chargers. Metchie opened the week as a non-participant but was able to upgrade each day, ending the week off with a full session on Thursday. However, the wideout was unable to avoid a questionable tag. However, seeing him return to full practice on Thursday suggests he is in a good position to suit up on Saturday afternoon. With Tank Dell (knee) sidelined, Metchie has seen an average of six targets over the past two weeks and tallied 36.0 yards per game. If Metchie were to suit up, he should be viewed as a viable flex option in DFS formats, as he should continue to operate as the No.2 wideout in the Houston offense, opposite of Nico Collins.--Andy Smith - RotoBaller

According to the team, Houston Texans wide receiver John Metchie III (shoulder) did not practice on Tuesday. The 24-year-old wideout exited Sunday's game early. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor his status throughout the week as he could be in danger of missing Saturday's contest against the Los Angeles Chargers. Before exiting, Metchie saw four targets and brought in two of them for 24 yards. In Week 17, Metchie saw a season-high eight targets. With Tank Dell (knee) out for the remainder of the season, Metchie should operate as the clear No.2 wideout in this offense for the remainder of the playoffs. If Metchie were to miss Saturday's playoff game, fantasy managers should expect Robert Woods, Xavier Hutchinson, or Diontae Johnson to move up the depth chart.--Andy Smith - RotoBaller
