Jets Not Expected To Go After Ben Johnson For Head-Coach Job
2 days agoThe New York Jets are not expected to put in a formal request to interview Detroit Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson for their head-coach position. However, they are expected to have interest in Lions defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn for head coach. Johnson is the top head-coaching candidate this offseason, but The Athletic's Dianna Russini reports that he has made it very clear that he doesn't have interest in the Jets' head-coaching job because of their unsettled situation at quarterback. Future Hall of Famer Aaron Rodgers has said he'd be interested in returning in 2025 if the organization would have him back, but the Jets are most likely to go in another direction with Rodgers not even sure if he wants to play another year. The Jets also don't have a young QB ready to take over, and the might not be in an ideal situation in the draft to select a top signal-caller.
