According to NFL Media's Ian Rapoport, Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Darnell Mooney (shoulder) is "considered a long-shot" to suit up for Sunday's meeting with the Carolina Panthers. The wideout is currently listed as questionable for Week 18. However, Rapoport added that it will be an "uphill battle" for Mooney to get on the field. He has had arguably the best season of his career in 2024-25, totaling 992 yards and five touchdowns off 64 catches. With the Falcons still alive for the postseason, Mooney will be needed. But if he's not out there, Drake London will presumably see more attention from Michael Penix Jr. The same can be said for Kyle Pitts and Ray-Ray McCloud III.--Dennis Clausen - RotoBaller

According to Will McFadden of AtlantaFalcons.com, wide receiver Darnell Mooney (shoulder) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Carolina Panthers. Mooney popped up on the injury report on Thursday as a limited participant but was then downgraded to a non-participant on Friday. Fantasy managers should keep a close eye on his status over the weekend. However, seeing him downgrade throughout the week is not a positive sign. If Mooney were to sit out on Sunday, Drake London would see further increase in targets and Ray-Ray McCloud would move up to the No.2 spot on the depth chart. Rookie Michael Penix Jr. has looked London's way 21 times over his first two starts and would be viewed as a high-end WR2 if Mooney cannot play.--Andy Smith - RotoBaller

According to the team, Atlanta Falcons wide receivers Drake London (knee) and Darnell Mooney (shoulder) were both added to the injury report following Thursday's practice. Both wideouts practiced on Thursday in a limited capacity. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor their status on Friday. If they cannot return to full participation, they could carry a questionable tag into Sunday's regular season finale against the Carolina Panthers. Last weekend, London was Michael Penix Jr.'s go-to target in the passing game as he saw an impressive 13 targets during their loss to the Washington Commanders. In this game, Mooney saw five targets but was only able to bring in two of them. If either wide receiver were to miss Sunday's game, Ray-Ray McCloud would see an increase in opportunities.--Andy Smith - RotoBaller

Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Darnell Mooney could snag just two of his five targets in Sunday's 30-24 overtime loss to the Commanders, totaling 37 yards on his receptions. A week after leading the Falcons in receiving yards, the 27-year-old faded from the offense, but such is the case with a rookie quarterback. There will be ups and downs, but Mooney's down was an untimely one, letting many fantasy managers who put their faith in him down at the most crucial time of the fantasy season. Still, it has been a banner year for the fifth-year pro, who is just eight yards away from logging his second 1000-yard season, the last coming back in 2021 for the Bears. He has a good chance to hit that milestone in Week 18 against the Panthers, although he posted just a 3-38-0 line against them earlier this season.--Jarod Rupp - RotoBaller

After falling flat with a zero-catch performance in Week 15, Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Darnell Mooney bounced back nicely last week with a five-catch effort on six targets, racking up 82 yards in the process. It was the seventh time this season that the 27-year-old caught at least five passes in a game and he showed some nice rapport with Michael Penix Jr. in his first start under center. Despite those results, it may be tougher sledding against the Commanders in Week 17 that has been better against the pass in recent weeks, and with a shot at the playoffs on the line for the Falcons, expect them to deploy a more conservative approach via the ground attack for as long they can in this one. As such, Mooney projects as a low-end WR3 in this one with perhaps some slight upside in PPR leagues, but he also carries some downside risk with the inexperience at QB.--Jarod Rupp - RotoBaller
