Week 17 Quarterback Outlooks for Fantasy Football
Brock Purdy, San Francisco 49ers - Fantasy Football Outlook
San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy will face the Detroit Lions at home for Week 17's Monday night matchup. Last week in Miami, Purdy threw a career-high 40 passes, completing 26 of them for 313 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception. He also led the team in rushing yards with 26, indicating San Francisco's backfield depletion more than anything.
This week, rookie running back Isaac Guerendo (foot, hamstring) has no injury designation which should be a boon to the 49ers offense. The Niners' offensive line won't be at full strength. They're down to their third-string left tackle and starting right tackle Colton McKivitz (knee) is questionable.
Detroit's defense is healthy and ranked as the 12th most generous to opposing fantasy quarterbacks in Yahoo default scoring. Look for a game script similar to last week, as San Francisco tries to keep pace with an electric Lions offense. Purdy is a low-end QB1 for fantasy championship week.

Kenny Pickett, Philadelphia Eagles - Fantasy Football Outlook
Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Kenny Pickett (ribs) will start in Week 17 against the Dallas Cowboys as Jalen Hurts remains in concussion protocol. While Pickett also appeared on the injury report this week due to a rib issue sustained in last week's game, he has since been cleared to play.
In Week 16, Pickett completed 14 of 24 pass attempts for 143 yards, one touchdown, and one interception. He also contributed 13 rushing yards on three attempts. Pickett's Week 16 performance left much to be desired, ranking 27th in yards per attempt and 28th in passer rating.
Despite his struggles, Dallas offers room for optimism, as their defense has allowed the eighth-most passing yards per game since Week 11. Still, the Eagles are likely to lean heavily on their rushing attack and defensive play, positioning Pickett more as a game manager than a fantasy asset. Consider him a risky QB2 option.

Bryce Young, Carolina Panthers - Fantasy Football Outlook
Carolina Panthers second-year quarterback Bryce Young has looked much better late in the season after being benched early on for veteran Andy Dalton. While Young is on the rise heading into a Week 17 divisional matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday, he'll be without star running back Chuba Hubbard (calf, knee), who was placed on Injured Reserve. Outside of that, though, Young is set up nicely in his second meeting against a Tampa defense that has allowed the second-most fantasy points to opposing QBs in 2024, including 4,004 passing yards and 24 total touchdown passes. In the first meeting against the Bucs on Dec. 1, Young had a season-high 298 passing yards and a touchdown in the overtime loss. In the last five weeks, Young has been a top-10 fantasy QB with 1,255 passing yards, six touchdowns and three picks. He's still a QB2 in fantasy, but there's reason to believe he could have another decent game.
