Los Angeles Chargers running back J.K. Dobbins (knee) hasn't played in a game since Week 13. In Week 12, he suffered a knee injury that knocked him out of the rest of the game.
He hasn't seen action since, but he could be nearing a return soon. He's now served the four-game absence required of players that are placed on injured reserve.
So when will Dobbins return to the field?

J.K. Dobbins Injury Update
It's been reported that his injury will not require him to miss the rest of the year, and with the Chargers seemingly poised for a playoff run, he's not likely to be shut down for the season out of caution. And there was good news recently -- head coach Jim Harbaugh announced that the team opened his practice window.

They now have 21 days to elevate him to the active roster, or he'll be out for the rest of the season. He is set to return, the question is simply when. And reportedly, that should happen in Week 17. He might just be able to dunk on the New England Patriots yet.
J.K. Dobbins Fantasy Football Outlook
He's someone you can't leave out of starting lineups, unless you're lucky enough to have a stacked roster full of elite backs. He has extremely soft matchups with the New England Patriots and Las Vegas Raiders coming up, and while he's had some less-than-inspiring recent performances, those were against tougher defenses.

The former Baltimore Raven has had a performance worthy Comeback Player of the Year this season, rushing for 766 yards, averaging over 4.8 yards per carry, and scoring eight times on the ground. He's also caught 28 of his 34 targets for 134 yards, showing off at least some pass-catching upside for PPR leagues.
Don't bench him against the Pats if he's on the field.
