New Orleans Saints wide receiver Chris Olave (concussion) has been on the injured reserve since suffering his second concussion of the season during Week 9 of the regular season.
Olave has begun to practice but was not able to play this past Monday evening and only has two more opportunities to return to the field.
So will Olave play again in 2024 or is he out for the year?

Is Chris Olave Out For The Season?
Even though Olave could not suit up in Week 16, Olave was able to return to practice in a limited capacity leading up to this game. Seeing Olave participate in practice is a positive sign for his status heading into Week 17.
Fantasy managers should pay close attention to his status leading up to their Week 17 tilt against the Las Vegas Raiders. Olave may just need one full practice to clear the league's protocol.
Despite missing lot of time this season, Olave was productive through his limited stint. During Weeks 2 through 4, Olave eclipsed 80+ yards in each contest and saw an average of 7.3 targets per game. During this span he caught his lone touchdown of the campaign. The only other contest where Olave surpassed 80 yards was in Week 8 when he tallied a season high 107 yards.

If Olave can return to action this weekend, he should be viewed as a solid WR2 as he would be the lone proven option in this passing attack. No.2 wide receiver Rashid Shaheed (knee), tight end Taysom Hill (knee) are both out for the season, and running back Alvin Kamara (groin) is dealing with an injury himself. This may leave Olave as the lone option in this offense and he could be in store for a productive conclusion to what has been a disappointing season.
Fantasy managers should continue to hold Olave as he would be a solid option in all formats if he can clear the league's protocol in time to face the Raiders on Sunday.
