The bowl games start amping up in earnest after Christmas. I'll still take college football games on a Monday for the first time since Labor Day. Both bowl games today start early to ensure they don't interfere with Monday Night Football, but I'm not complaining. College football is college football. The offseason is longer than any other sport. Every year it's over too soon.
We kick off with the Myrtle Beach Bowl from Conway, South Carolina. This is a home game for Coastal Carolina facing UTSA. They will need all the help they can get. The other bowl game is the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl from Boise between Fresno State and Northern Illinois.
In this article, I will provide you with my daily fantasy college football lineup picks for DraftKings on 12/23/24, starting at 11 a.m. Eastern. I’ll give multiple player suggestions for players at quarterback, running back, and wide receiver, aiming to highlight one option at the salary scale's high, middle, and lower end. Good luck, RotoBallers.

DraftKings CFB DFS Picks - Quarterbacks
Owen McCown, UTSA ($7.9K)
Should be a movie about the McCown Family. Remember Josh turned down a NFL contract because he had a contract in place with minor-league Hartford. Knew honoring a commitment was important for his kids. And now starting QB Owen McCown is not in the portal at UTSA. #LessonLearned https://t.co/vveqP7Js1y

McCown has already committed to UTSA for the future. That's bad news for Coastal Carolina in the immediate future and the American Conference in the distant future. McCown's game against Army was his first game under 24 DraftKings points since Week 5. He's about as safe as it gets in DFS.
Tad Hudson, Coastal Carolina ($4.5K)
The other three starting quarterbacks in this set of bowls are making their first starts of the season thanks to transfers of starters Mikey Keene, Ethan Vasko, and Ethan Hampton. There is a slight chance that Hampton plays, but I would doubt he does.
Since all three are major risks, I don't mind going with the minimum-priced rookie even though he hasn't played a down of college football. We don't really know what we are getting, but the UTSA defense had issues this year. Hudson could be in for a solid game in what is a home bowl game.
Also consider: Joshua Wood, Fresno State ($6.3K); Josh Holst, Northern Illinois ($5.8K)

DraftKings CFB DFS Picks - Running Backs
Braydon Bennett, Coastal Carolina ($6.8K)
It's going to be tough sledding for the entire CCU offense in this one. Bennett is one of the few backs with experience in this game. The RB depth chart was blown apart. If Tad Hudson manages to keep CCU close, Bennett could be in for a big game. There's little depth behind him and UTSA's run defense struggled down the stretch.
Telly Johnson Jr., Northern Illinois ($6.5K)
Telly Johnson Jr. and Gavin Williams each eclipsed the 100-yard rushing mark as Northern Illinois defeated Akron, 29-16. With the win, the Huskies have reached bowl eligibility for the third time in four seasons! @NIU_Football | #MACtion pic.twitter.com/UaVfhg8mK7

We are going to see a lot of both backs in this one with an inexperienced quarterback making the start. NIU is a run-first team anyway. With Antario Brown sidelined again, expect a lot of carries for both Johnson and Gavin Williams. Johnson ran for 370 yards in four games with Brown out in November.
Also consider: Gavin Williams, Northern Illinois ($5.6K); Elijah Gilliam, Fresno State ($5.5K)
DraftKings CFB DFS Picks - Wide Receivers
Devin McCuin, UTSA ($6.3K)

McCuin was a difference-maker when he was able to suit up this season. His performance in Week 14 was his first game action since Week 7. He responded in a big way and should see plenty of targets from McCown in this one.
Jameson Tucker, Coastal Carolina ($5.5K)
The new quarterback will get the benefit of Coastal's leading receiver on the field with him. That can only help. Expect Tucker to lead the Chanticleers in targets by a large margin. If they play from behind as expected, Tucker could be in for a huge game.
Cam Thompson, Northern Illinois ($4.8K)
Trayvon Rudolph has opted out, so Thompson is in line to see most of the targets. At least his quarterback had a few chances to play this year. Vegas thinks NIU will be playing from behind in this game. If they're right, Thompson could wind up with a strong game for the price.
Also consider: Mac Dalena, Fresno State ($6.1K); Chris Carpenter, UTSA ($5.8K); David Amador II, UTSA ($5.2K)
DraftKings CFB Stacks
UTSA
Continuity is king, and UTSA has most of the team back. Brandon High Jr. is likely to start at running back. Pairing him with McCown, McCuin, and Amador or Carpenter could be a lucrative stack.
Also consider: Coastal Carolina, Northern Illinois
