I know that today has the fewest hours of daylight of any day in the northern hemisphere, but having the "night" slate start while it is still light out feels weird. What's not weird is the marquee matchups. DePaul heads up to the suburbs to take on Northwestern to get us started. Villanova heads to the Birdcage to take on Creighton.
Next up is Purdue and Auburn from Birmingham. Ohio State takes on Kentucky in the second half of the MSG doubleheader. Utah and Iowa head to the Sanford Pavillion in Sioux Falls. K-State heads down to Wichita to take on the Shockers. Oregon heads down the coast to face Stanford. We end our night in San Jose with Cal facing San Diego State.
This article will provide you with my daily fantasy college basketball lineup picks on DraftKings on 12/21/24, starting at 4 p.m. EST. I’ll give multiple player suggestions at guard and forward, aiming to highlight one option at the salary scale's high, middle, and lower levels. Good luck, RotoBallers.

Today's DraftKings Guards - CBB DFS Lineup Picks
Brooks Barnhizer, Northwestern ($10K)
Northwestern's Brooks Barnhizer has recorded a double-double in four straight games, becoming the first Big Ten guard to accomplish the feat since Ron Harper Jr. (Rutgers) in 2021. pic.twitter.com/a3i5gZeYb0

Barnhizer has at least 34 DraftKings points in every game this season. He's one of the few players who is worth this price tag.
Lamont Butler, Kentucky ($7.2K)
Butler didn't miss a shot in 10 tries (including six three-pointers) against Louisville last Saturday. He has been white-hot from the floor since Thanksgiving, but Kentucky didn't play in holiday tournaments around Thanksgiving. I'll ride the wave with Butler. He is 23-for-29 from the floor over the last three games.
Jordan Longino, Villanova ($5.4K)
It took Longino a bit to get going this year, but he has scored 35 points over the last three games. The peripheral numbers have remained solid for Longino. With Jhamir Brickus handling the ball more, Longino is free to expand the other facets of his game.
Ty Berry, Northwestern ($4.5K)
We'll forgive the foul-plagued disaster against an excellent defensive team in Illinois a couple of weeks ago. I'm more intrigued with Berry's games against Iowa (20 points, four assists) and Georgia Tech (11 points, two assists, five rebounds). Berry plays a ton of minutes, which is more than half the battle in finding the right value play.
Also consider: Jaylen Blakes, Stanford ($9K); Steven Ashworth, Creighton ($8.7K); Josh Dix, Iowa ($7.9K); Jaxson Robinson, Kentucky (7K); Miles Byrd, San Diego State ($6.8K); Mason Madsen, Utah ($5.2K); Layden Blocker, DePaul ($4.1K)

Today's DraftKings Forwards - CBB DFS Lineup Picks
Eric Dixon, Villanova ($9.6K)
Eric Dixon has haunted Creighton in his career.
His last 4 games:
• 20 Points 9 Rebounds
• 31 Points 2 Rebounds (W)
• 32 Points 6 Rebounds 1 Game Winner
• 25 Points 3 Rebounds pic.twitter.com/GXG5n9l18U— NovaAlerts (@AlertsNova) December 20, 2024
Ryan Kalbrenner can't guard him. He has been at Creighton for all four of those games. Lock in Dixon again. Death, taxes, and Eric Dixon against Creighton. We love sure things around here.
Coleman Hawkins, Kansas State ($8.4K)
Hawkins took the money and went to Manhattan. It has not gone as planned. Hawkins hasn't been bad, but he hasn't been worth $2 million either and fans are letting him have it. I'm a Hawkins truther and I was for his entire career at Illinois. I know what kind of player Hawkins is and what he is capable of.
Take a look at his games against St. John's and Drake and tell me this guy isn't giving it his all. Maybe the rest of the team just isn't that good.
Chaney Johnson, Auburn ($6.9K)
Johni Broome is out with a shoulder injury. Johnson went off after Broome went down last week. He put up 44.5 DraftKings points in 30 minutes against Georgia State. Purdue will put up more resistance, but I still like another big game out of Johnson here at a very reasonable price.
Jackson McAndrew, Creighton ($4.4K)
The loss of Pop Isaacs is a massive one for the Jays. The performance of McAndrew has helped lately. He scored 16 against Alabama in 19 minutes and 13 against Georgetown in 23 minutes. His minutes will keep increasing if he can keep hitting shots. The Jays need the offense with Isaacs out.
Also consider: Maxime Raynaud, Stanford ($9.8K); Devin Royal, Ohio State ($8.2K); Andrew Carr, Kentucky ($7.8K); Quincy Ballard, Wichita State ($5.9K); Dylan Cardwell, Auburn ($5.4K); Jared Coleman-Jones, San Diego State ($4.6K); Magoon Gwath, San Diego State ($4.4K)
