Filip Gustavsson Sits Out At Least Two More Games
4 months agoMinnesota Wild goaltender Filip Gustavsson (lower body) will miss the team's upcoming back-to-back set. He's been unavailable for a pair of games, and Wild head coach John Hynes has confirmed that he won't use Gustavsson on Friday against Utah nor in Saturday's matchup against Winnipeg. Marc-Andre Fleury will be between the sticks for Friday's game, with Jesper Wallstedt likely getting the nod on Saturday. Gustavsson, who's had a very successful season with a 14-5-3, will have his next chance to return on Monday when Minnesota hosts Chicago in its final game before the holiday break.

Filip Gustavsson Takes On Kraken Wednesday
4 weeks agoMinnesota Wild goaltender Filip Gustavsson will start on Wednesday against the Seattle Kraken. He will take the crease for the 47th time this season, trying to improve a 26-15-4 record. Gustavsson has posted four shutouts while registering a 2.57 goals-against average with a .915 save percentage. The Wild No. 1 has been one of the strongest fantasy options among goalies, but Gustavsson has been inconsistent since the 4 Nations Face-Off. He has won only four of his past nine appearances, dropping three of the last five. A matchup against a Seattle team that has a 14-19-0 road record gives Gustavsson a good opportunity to regain some momentum.

Filip Gustavsson Stops 28 Shots In Victory
4 weeks agoMinnesota Wild goaltender Filip Gustavsson stopped 28 of the 29 shots he saw during their victory over the Los Angeles Kings on Monday evening. The Kings held the advantage in the shot total, but Gustavsson was able to lead the way. His lone mistake came in the opening frame when Adrian Kempe found the back of the net on the power play. Gustavsson would then shut the door for the remainder of the contest. This was also a nice bounce-back for Gustavsson, as he allowed four goals in his previous start. Over his last seven games, the 26-year-old has posted a 4-2-1 record with a solid .929 save percentage and a 1.98 GAA. Fantasy managers should continue to view Gustavsson as a solid, low-end No. 1 goaltender playing behind one of the best defensive units in the sport. He will look to stay hot against the Seattle Kraken on Wednesday evening.

Filip Gustavsson Starts Against Rangers Thursday
1 month agoMinnesota Wild goaltender Filip Gustavsson has been named the starter for Thursday's matchup against the New York Rangers. He will look to continue an excellent month. In March, the Swedish netminder has posted a 3-1-0 record while allowing six total goals. Gustavsson kicked off the month with his fourth shutout of the season in a 1-0 victory over the Boston Bruins and has also defeated the Seattle Kraken and Colorado Avalanche. The Wild No. 1 has established himself as one of the best goaltenders in the league, going 25-14-3 for the campaign. He has recorded a 2.56 goals-against average and a .915 save percentage. Gustavsson has heated up lately and will be a good option for fantasy managers against a slumping Rangers squad that has lost four games in a row.

Filip Gustavsson Shuts Out Bruins With 28 Saves
1 month agoMinnesota Wild goaltender Filip Gustavsson starred in a 1-0 victory over the Boston Bruins on Sunday, posting his fourth shutout of the season with 28 saves. Keeping the Bruins at bay is no small feat, considering David Pastrnak came into the matchup with a 17-game point streak. Pastrnak recorded a game-high five shots on goal, but Gustavsson stood firm, bouncing back from two consecutive losses. The Swedish netminder boasts a 23-13-3 record for the season, having allowed 2.61 goals with a .914 save percentage. Minnesota's injuries have complicated the situation for Gustavsson, but he has continued to be a dependable option for fantasy managers.
