New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara (groin) is dealing with a groin injury that he suffered in Week 15. This late in the season, it's always worth questioning if players on teams that aren't headed to the playoffs will be shut down. Sometimes, teams don't have much left to play for.
Such is the case with the Saints -- they're playing for pride, to retain roster spots, and for paychecks. Those who still love the game are playing for that as well. But some teams opt to protect their star players from further injury, and much of the offense has run through the eighth-year RB.
So will he miss the rest of the season?

Is Alvin Kamara Out For The Season?
It's not likely that he'll need to miss the rest of the season. The Saints could choose to shut them down, since they're almost certainly not about to make the playoffs. But he's close to reaching 1,000 rushing yards for the first time in his career. His injury also isn't reportedly serious.
Darren Rizzi said Alvin Kamara's injury is a groin abductor type of situation. He said it felt minor and he felt it on the touchdown, but he's going to continue to go through tests. But then when asked if it was minor, Rizzi said he wasn't going to make a medical declaration.

He has an injury to his adductor muscle (forgive the typo by the author of the above post). It's unclear if he will miss time, and he has a chance of playing in Week 16. The team hasn't indicated that they want to shut him down, and Saints interim head coach Darren Rizzi hasn't indicated that it's under consideration.
Fantasy managers would be wise to use their waiver claims or the last of their FAAB on RB Kendre Miller. He's a highly talented back, and he could provide most of Kamara's production in a relief effort in offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak's system, which is highly sophisticated and productive. The Saints RB1 role is valuable in the hands of a talented player.
