Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Marquise Brown (shoulder) hasn't played a single game this season due to a shoulder injury he suffered in the preseason. He dislocated his sternoclavicular joint, which connects the sternum to the the clavicle, or collarbone. While he initially wasn't expected to play at all in 2024, it appears things could change.
Apparently, he's been progressing better than expected, meaning he could suit up at some point before season's end. Whether that happens before the fantasy football season is over is another matter.
So when will Brown return to play?

Marquise Brown Injury Update
He's reportedly returned to practice on Friday after having his 21-day practice window opened. The team will now have three weeks to elevate him to the active roster or he'll be out for the season. It's Week 15, meaning they technically won't have to bring him back until Week 18.

This isn't optimistic for his chances of playing in Week 16 or 17. There's very little chance he plays in Week 15. We expect him to return in Week 18.
Marquise Brown Fantasy Football Outlook
It's unlikely that he plays another game until after Week 17, so in most leagues, he really doesn't have an outlook at all. Even if he can return in W18, it's hard to imagine starting him being a good idea in leagues that have a championship round that week. He'll likely be involved very little in the offense.

There's no doubt that he's a good player, but the Chiefs are sleepwalking their way to the No. 1 seed in all likelihood, and have already cliched a playoff berth. There's a high risk and very little reward to rushing him back when they're probably intending on getting his feet wet for the playoff run.
They'll need him for it, as they already lost WR Rashee Rice (knee) for the season very early on, and are lacking in depth and talent at the position.
