Injuries have already ravaged enough fantasy rosters as we head down the homestretch. The last thing fantasy footballers need is bye weeks taking even more of their superstar players away.

Top Fantasy Football Tight End Pickups for Week 15

Juwan Johnson, New Orleans

Juwan Johnson had been quieter than a library coming into Week 14. He had only scored two touchdowns on the season, and he went without a catch or even a target in Weeks 12 and 13. But Johnson got his mojo back this past weekend as he scored a touchdown against the hapless and hopeless New York Giants.

Taysom Hill’s season-ending knee injury, along with the injuries suffered by wideouts Chris Olave and Rashid Shaheed, have now moved Johnson up the Saints target chart like a Kendrick Lamar song moves up the Billboard charts. Look for Johnson to get more targets, especially down by the end zone, from here on out. He also has matchups against below-average pass defenses (Green Bay and Las Vegas) in Weeks 16 and 17.

Other Fantasy Football Tight Ends to Consider Adding

Zach Ertz, Washington Commanders

Listen, will fantasy footballers pick this guy up so I can stop finding new words to write about him every darn week? Zach Ertz should be at least a TE2 on a roster in every fantasy league in America. He should also be revved up coming off a bye that should have rested his body and infused him with extra energy for this week. Look for Ertz, who has scored touchdowns in three straight games, to do well against New Orleans’ 28^th-ranked pass defense on Sunday.

Dalton Schultz, Houston Texans

Dalton Schultz has been one of the most disappointing tight ends in fantasy football this season, but he is one of the better tight ends available on waiver wires this week. He did not do anything this past weekend since he was on bye, but Schultz has 15 catches for 180 yards and a TD over his past four outings. I like that if you pick up Schultz now and make it to your league’s championship game in Week 17, he will run routes against Baltimore’s 32^nd-ranked pass defense.

Hunter Henry, New England Patriots

Another week, another column, and another mention for Hunter Henry. He has been steady and solid, but not spectacular, all season long. Henry is a decent TE2 for a fantasy squad right now who can be plugged into the starting lineup when necessary. He is New England’s leading receiver and is two catches and 42 yards away from topping his career-highs in those categories.

Will Dissly, Los Angeles Chargers

INJURY UPDATE: Dissly is expected to miss multiple weeks with a shoulder injury.

Will Dissly continues to add numbers on top of his career-highs in receptions, targets, and receiving yards, but the longtime veteran is starting to run out of gas. He only has two catches for 19 yards over his last two games, so it is hard to trust him right now with fantasy league playoff berths on the line. The good news is he facing Tampa Bay’s 30^th-ranked pass defense this weekend.

Mike Gesicki, Cincinnati Bengals

Mike Gesicki has a date with an inconsistent, injury-prone Dallas secondary on Monday night that will cause him to shoot up or drop down on the tight end totem pole among waiver wire picks. While Gesicki has a 91-yard and a 100-yard game to his credit this year, he also has four games where he had less than 10 receiving yards.

Noah Gray, Kansas City Chiefs

Noah Gray is playing at a level which makes me believe he could be an 800-yard tight end if he was given a chance to start on another team. He has 16 receptions for 173 yards and four touchdowns over his last four contests. Meanwhile, tight end teammate Travis Kelce has 20 receptions for 183 yards and zero touchdowns over the same span.

Tommy Tremble, Carolina Panthers

Tommy Tremble has never been able to get on track consistently during his young career, but he has always showed flashes of potential, especially inside the red zone. He scored his first TD of the season against Philadelphia on Sunday after racking up 77 receiving yards the week before. Carolina QB Bryce Young is improving, and Tremble is, too.

Grant Calcaterra, Philadelphia Eagles

With injury-prone Dallas Goedert shelved for a month with a knee injury, Grant Calcaterra is back as Philly’s top tight end again. He reached the end zone for the first time in 2024 against Carolina and might continue to get red-zone looks in the coming weeks.
