Los Angeles Chargers rookie wideout Ladd McConkey has quickly developed into Justin Herbert's favorite target, and he has made a tremendous impact for fantasy football managers this season. The Georgia product has caught 58 of his 81 targets for 815 yards and four touchdowns through his first 12 NFL games. He sits as the overall WR16 in PPR setups.
However, he has been dealing with bumps and bruises all season long, and his status for Sunday Night Football against the Kansas City Chiefs is in doubt. Needless to say, this is an important development ahead of the fantasy football playoffs.
Will McConkey play on Sunday night, or is he out? Let's dive into his latest injury update and potential fantasy football outlook.

Ladd McConkey Injury Update
McConkey (shoulder/knee) is viewed as a true game-time decision for Sunday night due to shoulder and knee injuries. That means there's a chance fantasy managers won't know whether he is active or not until the Chargers release its official inactives report 90 minutes before kickoff.
The timing could not be worse with a potential fantasy football playoff berth on the line. Unfortunately, it's tough to predict whether he will suit up, so fantasy managers will have to wait and see.
#Chargers WR Ladd McConkey, dealing with an AC joint injury in his shoulder and a sprained knee, is a true game-time decision, sources say. He's listed as questionable and the team hopes to give him right up to 90 minutes before kickoff.

Ladd McConkey Fantasy Football Injury Impact
If you have McConkey and want to roll the dice, picking up Quentin Johnston or Joshua Palmer as an insurance option is a great idea. McConkey is RotoBaller's WR14 on the week and is a must-start if he plays, but if he cannot go, Johnston sets up to be a boom-or-bust WR3/WR4 option, while Palmer should be viewed as more of a low-end flex play.
The Chiefs were dominant against the pass to begin the year but are now 15th in fantasy points per game allowed to wideouts.
That said, some fantasy managers are more risk-averse than others, and if you have a stacked WR group, it might be worth benching McConkey now in favor of a pass-catcher playing earlier in the day.
