Week 15 Waiver Wire Pickups (QB, RB, WR, TE): Free Agent Adds Include Patrick Taylor, Isaiah Davis, Jalen McMillan, Braelon Allen, Sincere McCormick, more

Adam Thielen - Fantasy Football Rankings, Draft Sleepers, NFL DFS Picks

Rob's Week 15 waiver wire pickups, fantasy football adds, and sleepers ahead of Week 15 of the 2024 NFL season. Free agent QB, RB, WR, and TE waiver wire targets. Top defense/kicker streamers.

Welcome to our Week 15 fantasy football waiver wire pickups article for the 2024 season. At this point of the season, fantasy managers should be looking into their playoff lineups, Week 15-17. You should be identifying where your weaknesses are. This is especially true for your defense and the positions where you do not have weekly starters.

If you're playing the matchups at 1-2 spots in your lineups, start looking at the Week 15-17 matchups now and identifying players you might want to start in those spots during those three weeks. If your roster allows it, start adding those guys now. It's essential to be active and proactive. Plan ahead.

Our rosters should never stay stagnant. There's almost always a spot on our roster that we can improve, and this article aims to help you identify who that upgrade can be. If you want to take advantage of our great premium tools, please use promo code "BOOM" to receive a 10% discount.

Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Parameters

A few rules before we get started. Every league is different. Different roster formats. Different roster sizes. That makes this one of the more challenging articles because every league’s waiver wire can look dramatically different.

Even what host site you use matters. ESPN has rankings that are different from those of Yahoo!, which have rankings that are different from those of CBS or NFL, and all of that impacts which players are drafted or not drafted. This year, we’ll be using ESPN’s roster percentages.

The vast majority of players use ESPN. It’s a simple numbers game. We’ll only identify quarterbacks and tight ends with a roster percentage of less than 55%. For running backs and receivers, that number will drop to 45%. We won’t be diving into defenses and kickers too much, but I’ll identify a few streamers to target at those positions each week with a roster percentage below 60%.

Each position will be arranged based on who you should prioritize first at that position. In an attempt to cater to leagues of all sizes, you will see many players listed at each position, but remember, they're arranged in the order in which you add them. Hopefully, this makes the article relevant to even those playing in deep 12-team leagues or 14-team leagues.

Quarterbacks - Fantasy Football Waiver Wire for Week 15

High-End QB2 Options with Weekly Top-10 Potential

Caleb Williams, Chicago Bears - 48.0% Rostered

Since Thomas Brown started calling the plays, Caleb Williams has scored 14 or more points in all four starts. In two of those contests, he scored just higher than 26 points. This stretch included games against Detroit, Chicago, Green Bay, and San Francisco. Two of them were on the road. Three were divisional games. All of them were against quality defenses. Williams has improved his play recently and shown a ceiling that we hadn't seen before.

He closes out with games against Minnesota, Detroit, and Seattle. Just a few weeks ago, against Minnesota and Detroit, Williams scored 53 fantasy points, more than 26 points in both outings. The volume has been good. Since the play-caller switch, he's averaged 35 pass attempts per game. He's likely to be ranked inside the top-16 moving forward, but he has top-10 upside.

Anthony Richardson, Indianapolis Colts - 52.2% Rostered

Since his benching, Anthony Richardson has returned and played somewhat like the player fantasy managers thought they were getting when they drafted him so high this offseason. He'll continue being a bit boom or bust, but Richardson can provide ceiling outcomes that can flip weeks. He's played three games since his benching and scored over 21 points twice but fewer than 13 in the other contest. Richardson is averaging 20.74 PPG, a number fantasy managers could be more than happy with.

However, he's unlikely to be as consistent as other top-12 quarterbacks. Richardson has had games with 10, 10, and nine rushing attempts. His ability to score points on the ground raises his floor and increases his ceiling. He's averaging 47 rushing yards and one rushing touchdown since he's returned as the starter. The Colts were on bye in Week 14 and have a brutal matchup in Week 15 against Denver, but has two incredibly favorable matchups against the Titans and Giants during the heart of the fantasy playoffs.

Strong Bench and Streamer Options

Jameis Winston, Cleveland Browns - 19.9% Rostered

Since becoming the starter, Jameis Winston is averaging 20.3 PPG for the Browns. He has attempted more than 40 passes in five of his six starts. The only game he didn't throw 40 passes was the snowstorm against Pittsburgh. The volume right now is crazy good. While plenty of bad comes with Winston (he has multiple turnovers in four games), the upside is also obvious.

He has three games with 23 or more points. His next three games come against the Chiefs, Bengals, and Dolphins. All three of those games are likely to be high-scoring and shoot-out contests.

Matthew Stafford, Los Angeles Rams - 38.2% Rostered

With Puka Nacua and Cooper Kupp, Matthew Stafford becomes a viable play almost any week. He scored 19 or more points in three of his last four games. Next week, they'll face off against the 49ers in another game that could be a shoot-out. Stafford isn't a QB1 anymore, but his weapons around him give him plenty of weekly upside.

Other Players to Consider:

  • Geno Smith, Seattle Seahawks - 49.8% Rostered
  • Drake Maye, New England Patriots - 15.8% Rostered
  • Russell Wilson, Pittsburgh Steelers - 55.5% Rostered
  • Kirk Cousins, Atlanta Falcons - 54.3% Rostered
  • Will Levis, Tennessee Titans - 28.0% Rostered (AC joint injury, something to monitor moving forward)
  • Derek Carr, New Orleans Saints - 17.5% Rostered (fractured his non-throwing hand; Week 16 status TBD)
  • Bryce Young, Carolina Panthers - 4.3% Rostered
  • Aaron Rodgers, New York Jets - 39.6% Rostered

Running Backs - Fantasy Football Waiver Wire for Week 15

Must Add

Isaiah Davis, New York Jets - 3.6% Rostered
Braelon Allen, New York Jets - 45.5% Rostered

Isaiah Davis and Braelon Allen were in a 50/50 timeshare this past weekend. Allen played 37 snaps to Davis's 36. Allen ran 22 routes and Davis ran 20. Davis had more targets, with seven compared to Allen's five. Allen paced the team in carries with 11, while Davis finished with ten. That's as close as you can get to a completely 50/50 timeshare.

Davis finished with 40 rushing yards, and a touchdown on his ten carries. Allen had 43 yards. Davis caught three of his seven targets for 27 yards, while Allen caught four for 38 yards. Davis finished with 14.2 half-PPR points, and Allen finished with 9.8. Both players are now on the RB3 radar and can be started as such. However, they both needed to be added in case one separates and takes control of the backfield over the final few weeks.

Patrick Taylor Jr., San Francisco 49ers - 4.1% Rostered

Christian McCaffrey and Jordan Mason are on IR. Isaac Guerendo suffered a sprain foot this past weekend. It's unknown how severe Guerendo's injury is, but if it keeps him out in Week 16, Patrick Taylor Jr. would become the 49ers' starting running back. With how depleted they are at the running back position, if Guerendo cannot suit up, Taylor would likely see 15 or more touches and be ranked in the top-24 running backs for Week 16. He's a must-add player.

Zach Charbonnet, Seattle Seahawks - 67.0% Rostered

Kenneth Walker practiced on Wednesday but missed two practices on Thursday and Friday. Ultimately, He was ruled out on Saturday and didn't seem close to playing. Zach Charbonnet had 22 carries for 134 yards and two touchdowns. He also had seven receptions and 59 yards en route to 34.8 half-PPR points. He handled most of the backfield touches this past weekend when Walker missed time earlier in the year.

It's unknown if Walker will be able to return in Week 16, but at this time, fantasy managers should consider Walker a 50/50 bet, at best, to return in Week 16, which makes Charbonnet a must-add. Charbonnet will be ranked as a top-15 player if Walker is out next week.

RB3s

Gus Edwards, Los Angeles Chargers - 57.1% Rostered

Gus Edwards has operated as the Chargers’ No. 1 back since J.K. Dobbins went on IR. He’ll get two more weeks to operate in that role since Dobbins isn’t eligible to return Week 17. He’s still splitting carries with Kimani Vidal, but he’s getting the goal-line touches (he scored last night), and that keeps him on the RB3 radar.

He’ll likely continuing getting 10-to-14 touches per game until Dobbins returns. That volume is enough to keep him in lineups, although based on how his first two weeks have gone, fantasy managers shouldn’t expect too much. He’s a fairly touchdown-dependent play.

Sincere McCormick, Las Vegas Raiders - 7.9% Rostered

Sincere McCormick played 41 of the team's 67 snaps and ran a route on ten of the team's 41 dropbacks. He finished with 78 yards on the ground and two catches for 11 yards. He finished 9.9 half-PPR points. Due to injuries, Zamir White and Alexander Mattison have missed the last few weeks. The team played Ameer Abdullah far less this past weekend after almost utilizing him as a workhorse back the past two weeks.

With the Raiders likely more focused on 2025, there's a good chance they will give McCormick an audition these final weeks of the season. That'll make McCormick a volume-dependent RB3 in the same fashion as Mattison. The dreadfulness of the Las Vegas offense will limit his weekly upside, but McCormick should be good for 12-to-18 touches per week, which provides a decent floor for fantasy managers.

RB4s with High Contingency Value

These players can all be started in a pinch. Players like Tyler Allgeier and Tank Bigsby continue to see 7-to-12 touches per game, which keeps them on the RB4 radar weekly. Jerome Ford and Jeremy McNichols are their team's primary pass-catching and third-down backs. These two players will also see a handful of touches each week, with a likely larger role in the passing game. These players also would see a significant increase in their fantasy value if the starters on their team were to be injured and miss time.

Pure Handcuffs

The following players offer no standalone value. They should not be started under circumstances based on the current status quo. However, if the starters ahead of them on the depth chart are injured and forced to miss time, all of these players would see their fantasy value skyrocket. These players are in the order you should prioritize them. The players listed first have the most contingency value. Handcuffs aren't as valuable as they were at the beginning of the season.

That's because we're running out of weeks for the starters to get hurt. That sounds dark, but it's the reason we roster handcuffs. If you have a roster spot and want to add someone with high upside, target the players on the top of this list. While Allgeier, Bigsby, Ford, Jaleel McLaughlin, and McNichols were listed as RB4s, which they are, I've also included them in the below list of handcuffs (in parenthesis) so you can see where their contingency value if the starters ahead of them were injured.

Wide Receivers - Fantasy Football Waiver Wire for Week 15

WR3s

Adam Thielen, Carolina Panthers - 38.5% Rostered

Since returning from his hamstring injury, Adam Thielen has been on a tear. He has 21 targets, 17 receptions, and 201 yards over the past two weeks. He's scored 19.9 and 14.7 half-PPR points. He provided WR2/3 value last year with a version of Bryce Young, who was playing far, far worse than he was this year. Young's improved play raises the bar for every Panthers' offensive player, including Thielen, who appears to be Young's No. 1 target.

Thielen should be a priority add this week, especially with Carolina's final schedule. Games against Dallas, Arizona, and Tampa Bay all provide three favorable matchups where Thielen could easily deliver WR2 value for fantasy managers.

Josh Downs, Indianapolis Colts - 64.1% Rostered

Josh Downs is likely unavailable in any competitive leagues, but after missing Week 13 and having a bye in Week 14, he has been dropped recently. He's played in ten games this season and scored 9.0 or more half-PPR points in seven. He's averaging 11.1 half-PPR PPG.

Christian Watson, Green Bay Packers - 57.5% Rostered

Christian Watson is a boom-or-bust player, but he's arguably been the Packers' most productive receiver this season. However, he's gone over 65 yards in three of his last four games. That includes two games where he had four catches and over 110 yards. He has six or more targets in three of his last six games. That span also includes two other games with four targets.

He's been incredibly efficient on the targets he has received, and hopefully, that will lead to a more featured role in this Packers' passing offense. He's played nine full games with Jordan Love this year, scoring 7.0 or more half-PPR points in six of those.

Cedric Tillman, Cleveland Browns - 36.5% Rostered

It was just a few weeks ago that Cedric Tillman looked like a league-winner, but due to a concussion and him missing two consecutive games, Tillman has found his way back onto the majority of the league's waiver wire. Before leaving in Week 12, he had four targets and a 25% target share. In the four games prior (Weeks 8-11), Tillman had been averaging 15.5 half-PPR PPG. He scored over 14 half-PPR points in three of those contests.

In all four of those games, he had eight or more targets. He averaged ten targets, six receptions, and 75 yards per game. If he's available in your league, he's worth adding, especially considering how pass-heavy the Browns have been with Jameis Winston under center.

WR4s and WR5s Who are Solid Bye-Week and Injury Replacements

Rome Odunze, Chicago Bears - 60.7% Rostered

Rome Odunze found the end zone twice this past weekend and rewarded fantasy managers who stuck by his volume. He had 18.2 half-PPR points. Caleb Williams is playing better as of late, although the offense has really struggled in the first-half of games.

Since the team's Week 7, Odunze has averaged over seven targets per game. With Williams and the Chicago offense showing more potential, Odunze's volume is worth having on your bench. He's not someone you can start confidently week-to-week, but he's getting enough volume to be a viable weekly start.

Keon Coleman, Buffalo Bills - 50.8% Rostered

Keon Coleman missed Weeks 10 and 11. The Bills had their bye in Week 12, but it wasn't enough time for Coleman to return to the field this past weekend. However, since he wasn't placed on IR, we should expect him back in Week 14. Coleman was injured in Week 9 and left early, scoring only 4.6 half-PPR points. Buffalo was on a bye in Week 12, which has caused his rostered percentage to drop. He's unlikely to be available in competitive leagues, but Coleman should be added if he is.

From Weeks 4-8, Coleman has averaged 5.4 targets, 3.2 receptions, and 64.2 yards per game en route to a 10.4 half-PPR PPG. Even more appealing is the fact that Coleman was getting better every week. In Weeks 7 and 8, his last two full games before leaving Week 9 early, he had 14 targets, nine receptions, 195 yards, one touchdown, and 30 total half-PPR points. He benefited from the absence of Amari Cooper, but Coleman should be valued as a weekly WR4 with upside moving forward.

Xavier Legette, Carolina Panthers - 31.7% Rostered

Xavier Legette had a bad drop this past weekend, but since the team's Week 11 bye, Legette has had three consecutive games of six or more targets, including back-to-back games of eight. Legette doesn't have a high ceiling, but he has scored 5.0 (I'm rounding up his 4.9 half-PPR point performance this past weekend) in six straight weeks. That includes four games of 7.0 half-PPR points or more. However, it also doesn't include a single 12.0 half-PPR point performance.

Carolina has one of the best remaining schedules for receivers. With Bryce Young playing the best football of his young career, Legette is in a position where he could finish his rookie season at a high point. He's worth having on your bench just in case this Carolina offense puts together several strong weeks against a weak-remaining schedule.

Marquez Valdes-Scantling, New Orleans Saints - 23.0% Rostered

Marquez Valdes-Scantling is averaging 14.4 half-PPR PPG over the last four games with the Saints. His three-week touchdown streak was snapped this past weekend, but he did have the most targets since joining New Orleans. He finished with seven targets, four receptions, and 51 yards en route to 7.1 half-PPR points. While that isn't going to win any matchups, it's not a terrible outing, considering he's like your sixth receiver on your team. He's a boom-or-bust player, but he's shown he's one of the few playmakers left on this Saints' offense.

One thing to consider is that Derek Carr suffered a fractured left hand. It's unknown what that means for him going forward. The injury was to his non-throwing hand, but if it forces him to miss time, this will harm MVS's fantasy value. The "boom" weeks MVS has been able to provide would become increasingly more difficult without Carr. That's someone to keep an eye on.

Elijah Moore, Cleveland Browns - 23.2% Rostered

Elijah Moore is averaging 9.35 half-PPR PPG since Jameis Winston became the starter, which spans six games. He has 12.5 or more half-PPR points in three of those. He has eight or more targets in four of those games. With games against the Chiefs, Bengals, and Dolphins remaining, fantasy managers can continue to count on high passing totals from Winston. That'll give Moore a good decent chance of providing WR3/4 value for fantasy managers over the final three weeks.

Rashod Bateman, Baltimore Ravens - 20.0% Rostered

Rashod Bateman hurt his knee in Week 13 against the Eagles and couldn't finish the game. He wasn't targeted before leaving and was ruled out fairly quickly, which is always a concern. Due to that, fantasy managers should tread carefully when targeting Bateman this week if you're looking for a starter. However, Baltimore did have a bye in Week 14, so he'll have had an extra week to heal.

Bateman has been a quality fantasy receiver this season. He had five double-digit performances in 12 games (not counting Week 13) and a sixth contest with 9.1 half-PPR points. Someone scoring 9.0 or more half-PPR points 50% of the time for a bench receiver can be a valuable asset. That's what Bateman had been doing. However, the injury complicates things and will be something fantasy managers must pay attention to this week.

DeMario Douglas, New England Patriots - 24.6% Rostered

DeMario Douglas isn't going to win fantasy managers any weeks. He doesn't have that kind of upside. He is, however, a consistent weekly producer. Before Week 13, he had scored 7.0 or more half-PPR points in four straight weeks. He floundered a bit this past weekend, only scoring 4.0 half-PPR points, but he should continue to be viewed as Drake Maye's No. 1 pass-catcher. He should be viewed as a lesser version of Xavier Legette. The ceiling is limited, and it may be borderline nonexistent for Douglas, but he should often provide fantasy managers with 5.0-to-12.0 half-PPR points.

Romeo Doubs, Green Bay Packers - 41.4% Rostered

Romeo Doubs has played in 10 games this year. He left Week 12's game early due to a concussion and was ruled out for Week 13. He was still in concussion protocol as of yesterday. However, in ten games this season, Doubs scored 7.0 half-PPR points or more in six. (Full disclosure: he only scored 6.9 this past weekend, and I'm counting it since he left early).

He's only scored double-digit half-PPR points twice this year, but Doubs has been a decent bet for 6-to-10 half-PPR points most weeks. That production isn't what you want from one of your weekly starters, but for a bench player, you might only be starting during bye weeks or due to injuries; he's a quality player in that regard.

Jalen McMillan, Tampa Bay Buccaneers - 8.6% Rostered

Jalen McMillan has struggled during his rookie season, but he had four catches, 59 yards, and two touchdowns this past weekend. After Chris Godwin and Mike Evans went down, McMillan largely operated as a perimeter receiver. However, with Evans back on the field, McMillan has run more routes from the slot position, where he primarily played in college.

Tampa Bay is desperate for pass-catchers behind Evans and Cade Otton. If McMillan can keep this going, he'll be a player to keep an eye on as the season comes to a close.

Others to Consider (Deep-Bench Options):

Tight Ends - Fantasy Football Waiver Wire for Week 15

Tucker Kraft, Green Bay Packers - 62.7% Rostered

Since Tucker Kraft has become the starter, he's scored 9.5 half-PPR points or more in seven of his ten starts. That includes one contest where he scored 22.8 half-PPR points. Kraft will be ranked as a top-12 tight end weekly and has more upside than most. Green Bay has featured Kraft near the end zone, having scored seven touchdowns this season.

Jake Ferguson, Dallas Cowboys - 69.7% Rostered

Luke Schoonmaker has 20 targets in the past three weeks, with Cooper Rush under center while Jake Ferguson was out. That's just under seven targets per game. Schoonmaker scored 8.6, 13.0, and 5.8 half-PPR points in those three contests. Ferguson will return to the lineup tonight. If he was dropped after his concussion and the Dak Prescott injury, he's worth adding. He should provide fantasy managers with a strong floor.
