Welcome to Week 14 and a huge bye-week crunch for fantasy football managers. With fantasy football playoffs right around the corner and several teams on bye in Week 14, fantasy managers are facing tough lineup decisions.
Ray Davis, Zach Charbonnet, and Tyler Allgeier are among the players we’ll discuss ahead of this weekend’s games. Are they sneakier start/sit options with so many players on bye?
Let’s analyze whether you should start these running back in Week 14 lineups. Good luck RotoBallers!
Should I Start Ray Davis for Fantasy Football?
Buffalo Bills running back Ray Davis was dashing through the snow last week as the Bills defeated the San Francisco 49ers at home in windy and snowy conditions. Despite playing just 33% of the snaps, Davis racked up 67 all-purpose yards on 12 touches and scored a touchdown. This week, the Bills travel to Los Angeles to face the Rams in a matchup with a relatively high total of 49.5 points.
The key factor to consider is that James Cook remains the top running back in Buffalo. However, if Cook were to miss any time, Davis has the potential to become a league-winning player. In Week 6, Davis started in place of the injured Cook and totaled 152 all-purpose yards on 23 touches. Since then, Davis has scored at least 11 fantasy points in half of his games, offering some standalone flex appeal depending on the matchup.
Without consistent week-to-week volume, it’s difficult to trust Davis as a reliable fantasy option. However, he is an excellent RB stash heading into the final weeks of the season.
Davis is ranked as the RB38 in our Week 14 RB Rankings.
Should I Start Zach Charbonnet for Fantasy Football?
Seattle Seahawks running back Zach Charbonnet is coming off a strong performance, totaling 41 all-purpose yards and scoring a touchdown in the Seahawks' Week 13 win over the New York Jets. Over the last four games, we have seen his snaps and usage increase. More importantly, Kenneth Walker III is officially questionable this week, and if he were to miss any time, Charbonnet would be a top-15 running back against the Arizona Cardinals.
We saw what Charbonnet looked like as the Seahawks' starter in Weeks 2 and 3 with Walker out. During that time, he averaged a top-10 RB finish and 20.5 opportunities per game. Charbonnet also gets involved in the passing game, which only increases his value, especially in PPR formats.
Charbonnet currently ranks as RB30 in our Week 14 RB Rankings. However, keep an eye on Walker’s injury, as Charbonnet would be a must-start if Walker misses any time. In the meantime, Charbonnet has some flex appeal.
Should I Start Tyler Allgeier for Fantasy Football?
Atlanta Falcons running back Tyler Allgeier is coming off a few quiet weeks running the football, as the Falcons have found themselves in game scripts where they needed to pass the ball more. The Falcons are traveling to Minnesota to face the stout Vikings run defense in a matchup that will likely center around the return of Kirk Cousins to Minnesota.
The Vikings' defense has allowed the third-fewest points to opposing running backs this season. Combined with Bijan Robinson being the clear top option in the backfield, Allgeier is not recommended as a start in Week 14.
Allgeier does carry some handcuff value for fantasy managers who roster Bijan. He ranks as RB35 in our Week 14 RB Rankings.
