San Francisco 49ers defensive end Nick Bosa (hip/oblique) missed his second contest in a row due to hip and oblique injuries. He was unable to play in both Week 12 and Week 13.
The defense hasn't been able to stop much of anything in his absence. He got hurt during Week 11 against the Seattle Seahawks, leading to a miracle last-minute win as the opposing offense did whatever they wanted. They then allowed the Green Bay Packers to score 38 points against them and were blown out by the Buffalo Bills 35-10.
It's clear the defense takes a massive step back when he can't take the field. So when will Bosa be back? Here is the latest update for the 49ers' defensive end.

Nick Bosa Injury Update
Bosa didn't practice at all last week. It's possible the team knew there was no chance he would play or that they continually evaluated him and came to that conclusion daily. He was listed as a non-participant on the 9ers "anticipated injury report" for Wednesday.
#49ers anticipated injury report for Wednesday:
DNP – G Aaron Banks (concussion), OT Trent Williams (ankle), RB Jordan Mason (ankle), DE Nick Bosa (oblique), LB Demetrius Flannigan-Fowles (knee)
Limited – CB Deommodore Lenoir (knee), LB Dre Greenlaw (Achilles), S Talanoa…

He'll only have two more chances to log some kind of work at practice before the team's Sunday game against the Chicago Bears. 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan was asked about No. 97's potential availability, and expressed that he thought there was a chance he could play. That doesn't inspire a ton of confidence.
We're still in the "wait to see" phase of the week, but it wouldn't be surprising to see the All-Pro player miss another game.
Nick Bosa Fantasy Football Outlook
In IDP fantasy football leagues, you have to start him any time he plays. He's one of the best players at his position in the NFL, and he's often able to rack up sacks, batted balls, and other plays that boost his scoring. Regarding San Francisco's D/ST in normal leagues, they're not worth starting at this point.
They were shredded by both the Green Bay Packers and Buffalo Bills in subsequent weeks. They're reeling from a ton of injuries on both sides of the ball, and the team is collapsing as a whole. They'll get the Chicago Bears in Week 14, which is an easier matchup, but it's just too hard to trust this D/ST in starting lineups now.
