Hey, RotoBallers! I want to introduce myself formally. My name is Jon Irvin. Some of you may know me from the Discord channels and know I love breaking down DFS slates, especially in the MLB and NHL. I enjoy the deep dumpster diving, so to speak, and look forward to helping find the low-owned, overlooked, and unwanted plays.
I predominantly play on DraftKings, so some of my picks are more tailored to their point/price system, but a good spot is a good spot regardless of platform.
Welcome back, my friends, to the show that never ends. We're so glad you could attend. Come inside! Today's DFS content will be for the main slate for both DraftKings and FanDuel for Tuesday, December 3rd, 2024, at 7:00 PM EDT. We have a decent 10-game slate tonight, which means ownership shouldn't be much of an issue.

DraftKings and FanDuel NHL DFS Picks: First Look Stats
After reading this, jump into the RotoBaller Discord NHL channel and chat with all the other great minds about today's slate. Don’t forget to check out our valuable NHL tools, including the NHL DFS Heat Map. I've begun to implement my personal trend chart. This looks at the average between the L25 and L10, weighing the L10 heavier to help find certain positive or negative trends.
DraftKings and FanDuel Goalies - NHL DFS Picks
Value in net is key on DK with a three-point bonus at the 35-save mark. We can afford to give up an extra goal or two if our goalie can see a steady shot volume against him. Those extra few hundred can get us those top-line forwards
Kevin Lankinen - DK $7.6K || FD $7.8K
Opponent -Minnesota Wild
With a 1.98GA and .930SV%, Lankinen has been stellar in his 10 road starts this year. Tonight's matchup sets up to be a tough one for Kevin but Minnesota has been anything short of wild at home, especially in the L10 where they have a 2.09xGF while only averaging a little over 8 HDCF/60.
Others to consider: Filip Gustavsson (DK $7.8K || FD $8.1K)
DraftKings and FanDuel Centers - NHL DFS Picks
Justin Danforth - DK $3.8K || FD $4.4K (W on FD)
Opponent - Calgary Flames
I really like what I'm seeing out of the CBJ3 line centered by Danforth. The lack of PP time is made up with time on the PK1 unit which allows him to pitch in a block or two. Justin is sporting great metrics including over 17 HDCF as well as a positive xGF differential of over 2 goals.
Others to consider: Dylan Strome (DK $6.4K || FD $7.2K )
DraftKings and FanDuel Wings - NHL DFS Picks
Seth Jarvis - DK $5.5K || FD $6.3K
Opponent -Seattle Kraken
Not sure why DK continues to underprice Jarvis for his consistent production night in and night out, ignoring the dud he put up last time out which was his first zero of the year.
Jarvis finds himself on the ever-popular CAR3 alongside Martinook and Staal, as well as time on the top PP unit. Coming into tonight's matchup with Seattle, Seth has 16 points in only 17GP, it's a lock-and-load play for me.
Connor McMichael - DK $5.8K || FD $6.7K
Opponent -San Jose Sharks
Connor has taken over the firing duties for the mending Alex Ovechkin, compiling 23 sog over the L6 games since Ovie's departure. On the left side of WAS1, McMichael finds himself alongside Tom Wilson who's also picking up the pieces over the same span. Washington is hosting San Jose tonight who bled scoring chances to teams all year. I expect this line to carry some ownership but shouldn't be seen as avoidable chalk.
Others to consider: Ryan Nugent-Hopkins (DK $4.5K || FD $4.9K)
DraftKings and FanDuel Defensemen - NHL DFS Picks
When selecting defensemen, especially on DK, I tend to find players with a high chance at both blocks and shots and not concentrate so much on point dependency.
Vince Dunn- DK $5.4K || FD $5.8K
Opponent - Carolina Hurricanes
Now this may not seem much of a value play if you're used to reading my articles and your propensity to live below the 4k range, this is however a value play in terms of price compared to the peripheral floor. Dunn who was recently activated comes in as our 4th best defenseman when looking at shot and block potential yet is priced as the 16th-best on DK.
Vince plays heavy minutes 5v5 as well as exposure to the PP2 unit and contributes on both sides of the ice. Tonight facing Carolina, who's firing over 30 sog 5v5, should put him in a great spot for a chance at the block bonus as well.
Kris Letang DK $3.8K || FD $4.9K
Opponent - Florida Panthers
This price is just too low for the ceiling that Letang has even in a down year. The inconsistency is a worry but when Kris shows up he shows up in a big way, with solid minutes reaching the mid-20s, he's been given plenty of TOI to get right.
Others to consider: Colton Parayko (DK $4.8K || FD $5.5K)
Here is my top 25 defensemen chart, focusing more on shot and block peripherals to find a safer floor.
