Arthur Smith Expected To Get NFL Head-Coaching Interest, Won't Leave For College Job
3 mins agoPittsburgh Steelers offensive coordinator Arthur Smith informed the University of North Carolina football program that he should not be considered for their head-coaching vacancy, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. There had been plenty of speculation that Smith, who has NFL head coaching experience, might be a top candidate for the new opening at UNC, his alma mater. However, Rapoport says that he has no plans to leave the NFL. In fact, according to Rapoport, Smith is expected to receive NFL head coaching interest this winter after a successful season working with Russell Wilson and Justin Fields in Pittsburgh. Smith was previously in charge of the Atlanta Falcons from 2021 through 2023, during which he went 21-30 and never made the playoffs.
