4 months agoMiami Heat small forward Nikola Jovic (ankle) started the first eight games of the season for the Heat before sliding to a bench role for the next six games. He has missed the Heat's last three games after sustaining an ankle injury last Sunday against the Mavericks. In the three games he has missed, Duncan Robinson has averaged over 30 minutes a game while producing 14.3 points, 3.3 rebounds and 2.7 assists. Haywood Highsmith has also played extra minutes in the last two games, producing solid counting stats. Kevin Love had eight points, two rebounds, two assists and two steals in 13 minutes in his return. Love was listed as available to play Sunday as well and can be a punt play along with Highsmith in DFS contests.--Zach Thompson - RotoBaller

1 month agoMiami Heat forward Nikola Jovic (hand) suffered a fractured shooting hand during Sunday's game against the Milwaukee Bucks and was not able to return after the first quarter. The team reported that X-rays were taken and they showed a break on his second metacarpal. There's a strong possibility that Jovic will miss an extended period of time, just like Tyler Herro did after breaking his hand during the Heat's 2023 playoff run. In the meantime, it seems Davion Mitchell, Kel'el Ware, and Duncan Robinson will receive plenty of minutes. Mitchell and Ware were already in the starting lineup and saw 33 minutes or more in their last game.--Alex Fischbein - RotoBaller

1 month agoMiami Heat forward Nikola Jovic (illness) will be in the lineup on Friday against the Toronto Raptors. The 21-year-old has shaken off a questionable tag and is ready to make his 30th consecutive appearance after winning a bout with a stomach bug. Jovic has made big strides in 2024-25, averaging 10.9 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 2.9 assists. He has even boosted his offensive output to 13.1 points in February, sinking 2.4 triples per game.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller

1 month agoMiami Heat forward Nikola Jovic (illness) is suffering from some sort of stomach illness and has been tagged as questionable for Friday's matchup against the Toronto Raptors. The 21-year-old has started to carve out a bigger role on the team, especially since Jimmy Butler was traded. He's seen the most playing time of his career so far and has turned into averages of 10.9 points, 3.9 rebounds, 2.9 assists, 1.7 threes, and 1.4 turnovers per game. If he's unable to suit up, Alec Burks would see extra time off of the bench while Kyle Anderson and Jaime Jaquez Jr. continue to see bigger roles as well.--Alex Fischbein - RotoBaller

2 months agoMiami Heat forward Nikola Jovic (knee) will be active on Thursday against the Dallas Mavericks. The 21-year-old has been battling various health issues recently and is currently on the injury report with a left knee contusion. However, Miami has upgraded him from probable to available. Jovic has put together a few impressive stretches in 2024-25 but is still plagued by inconsistency. Following back-to-back 20-point games, he has notched 29 points across three outings prior to Thursday's action.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
