2024 was poised to be a superb season for Las Vegas running back Zamir White. Too bad a broken-down body has prevented him from having a breakout year.
White was slated to be the Raiders’ top tailback entering the 2024 campaign. The door was wide open for him after the departure of Josh Jacobs to the Green Bay Packers. White’s only competition was Minnesota Vikings castoff Alexander Mattison and longtime third-down specialist Ameer Abdullah.
An early-season groin injury robbed White of a couple games, and when he did play all he mustered was 183 rushing yards and a touchdown with a dreadful 2.8 yards per carry. Now White is dealing with a quad injury that caused him to miss last week’s contest. So when can fantasy footballers expect White to return? Here is the latest:

When Is Zamir White Coming Back?
Well, it is not looking good for this week. He was classified as a non-participant for Las Vegas’ Tuesday practice, and the Raiders play a special “Black Friday” against their division rival Kansas City. White would need to get a practice in to have a shot of suiting up.

Meanwhile, Mattison is listed as questionable and did practice sparingly on Tuesday, while Abdullah is healthy and ready to go for Friday. So the Raiders might opt not to rush White back, especially if Mattison could take some carries against the Chiefs.
The good news is that there has been no talk about White being placed on injured reserve and missing the rest of the season.
Zamir White’s 2024 Fantasy Outlook
The outlook is looking bleaker by the week for White. He has not been able to stay on the field, and he has not done anyone any fantasy favors when he has found the field. The hope here is that he gets healthy soon and the Raiders can make him their bellcow back for the final few games of the season to see if he can handle the workload and responsibility. This way the organization will know if White is the future featured back or if they need to move on from him in 2025.
I would hold onto White if you have the roster room. There is still a glimmer of hope that he could be Las Vegas’ RB1 in Week 15 and 16 if he is 100 percent. I know it is a long shot with the way things are trending with his body, but you can never have enough running backs in fantasy football.
Let's just hope the Raiders do not decide to give rookie Sincere McCormick the touches down the stretch to see what he can do because they have already given up on White.
