San Francisco 49ers defensive end Nick Bosa (hip/oblique) was pulled from his team's Week 11 loss to the Seattle Seahawks due to an injury he suffered during the game. His absence was immediately felt, as the opposing team immediately marched down the field with little resistance.
Without their star DE, they looked lost on defense in both the remainder of the Seattle game and the entirety of their Week 12 game against the Green Bay Packers, which he missed as well. It was pretty ugly. They'll not have much of a chance of slowing down the Buffalo Bills in his absence.
So when will Bosa return to play?

Nick Bosa Injury Update for Fantasy Football
At the time he was pulled from the contest, he had picked up a hip injury, but was later listed on the injury report as also having an oblique issue. It's possible these could be related or could have been caused by the same play. But it's not known yet when he'll return. The severity of his ailments haven't been disclosed.
Nick Bosa on his status Sunday at GB:
“It gets better every day. Definitely a little early to call it either way.”
“It’s a completely different thing. It’s more an upper body thing. It’s not the core which is a good thing.”

It's encouraging that he said he wasn't sure whether he'd be able to go against GB, or at least better than if he'd known there was no chance. There's reason for optimism. He didn't practice at all before his Week 12 game, so keep an eye on the practice reports that start coming out on Wednesday.
Nick Bosa Fantasy Football Outlook
The 49ers D/ST is probably not worth starting at all in the absence of Bosa. He's absolutely crucial at getting pressure on opposing quarterbacks and disrupting plays. We've seen what they look like without him. Though it's encouraging that linebacker Dre Greenlaw (Achilles) is set to return to practice.
BREAKING NEWS: #49ers LB Dre Greenlaw WILL return to practice this week!

Even if both of those players are back and at 100% soon, SF will have brutal matchups against the Buffalo Bills, Los Angeles Rams, Miami Dolphins, and Detroit Lions in four of the next five weeks. That's not fun. They may only be worth starting in Week 14, when they take on the Chicago Bears.
