Jameson Williams Won't Face Legal Action
15 seconds agoDetroit Lions wide receiver Jameson Williams will not face charges for an October traffic stop during which he possessed a gun without a valid concealed pistol license, according to ESPN's Eric Woodyard. "Case law is silent regarding the specific issue and the legislative intent of the concealed pistol license statute does not support charges under these facts," according to the Wayne County prosecutor's office (via Woodyard's ESPN article). Barring any unforeseen developments, Williams will be able to put this incident behind him and prepare for the final stretch of the NFL season. He has been productive as the Lions' No. 2 receiver, catching 29 passes for 602 yards and four touchdowns through nine games. He remains a weekly WR3/FLEX option.
