Week 12 of the 2024 NFL season is almost behind us. On paper, this didn't look like an exciting week, but a number of games came down to the wire. The Cowboys used special teams to net an upset over the Commanders. The Chiefs beat the Panthers on a last-second field goal. The Bears took the Vikings to overtime.

Below, you'll find our Week 13 wide receiver fantasy football waiver wire pickups list with players you should be targeting on the fantasy football waiver wire ahead of Week 13. Not all of these waiver wire options are the same. Some players may be better in PPR or deeper leagues, so it’s not a one-size-fits-all comparison. Use your best judgment when deciding which of these players is the right fit for your roster.

Nick Westbrook-Ikhine, Tennessee Titans - 12% rostered

There's this idea out there that touchdowns are random. You can figure out target share and all that but the actual touchdowns themselves can't really be predicted. It's about being in the right place at the right time.

I mostly agree with that sentiment, but I have a counterpoint: Nick Westbrook-Ikhine.

CRAZY: #Titans receiver Nick Westbrook-Ikhine has more touchdowns than Justin Jefferson, Tyreek Hill, Cooper Kupp, and Travis Kelce this season.

For the sixth time since the team's Week 5 bye, Westbrook-Ikhine found the endzone this weekend, catching two passes for 25 yards and a touchdown. Over these seven games, NWI has hit the 50-yard mark just twice and caught more than three passes just one time, but that doesn't matter if he just keeps finding the end zone over and over.

He's a high-upside play because of his scoring ability, as it all boils down to the fact that one receiving touchdown gives you at least 6.1 fantasy points, and that's if it's just a one-yard score.

Adam Thielen, Carolina Panthers - 25% rostered

Weirdly, this is a Panthers-heavy week on the waiver wire, something that probably speaks more to the dearth of options on the wire this week than it speaks to the Panthers being on the upswing.

Adam Thielen returned from his multi-week absence, playing for the first time since Week 3. He was targeted four times, catching three passes for 57 yards. His role should grow as he works his way back to full strength.

Xavier Legette, Carolina Panthers - 267% rostered

I think Thielen is likely a slightly better play the teammate Xavier Legette right now, as Thielen has a higher floor and should be above Legette in the pecking order going forward.

Legette feels like a higher ceiling play as the rookie has big-play ability. He caught four passes for 56 yards this week, catching a 34-yard pass and registering a drop on a catch that would have resulted in 25 yards.

If your roster is in need of big plays, consider Legette.

DeMario Douglas, New England Patriots - 31% rostered

Honestly, if you haven't added DeMario Douglas yet, you probably won't do it. He's unlikely to ever win you a week on his own, but he's among the more solid floor plays. In half PPR, he's had 7.0 or more fantasy points in four consecutive games and has 50 or more yards in three consecutive contests.

Deeper Wide Receiver Fantasy Football Pickups For Week 13

Marquez Valdes-Scanting, New Orleans Saints - 24% rostered

The Saints were off this week. Here's what I said last week about Marquez Valdes-Scantling:

This was a weird one for the Saints as Taysom Hill was the only player with over four targets. He had 10 of them on his way to a wild game where he had 188 scrimmage yards and 18 passing yards.

But lost in that was that Marquez Valdes-Scantling scored his third touchdown in the last two weeks, getting loose for a 71-yard score. He caught just two passes all game, but his downfield speed makes him one of the top boom plays in the league.

He's kind of like a poor man's Rashid Shaheed in this offense. The ceiling is similar because of his ability to break off a huge touchdown at any moment, but the floor is much lower because he doesn't do much outside of big plays.

Devaughn Vele, Denver Broncos - 5% rostered

We still haven't had a player firmly take the No. 2 role in Denver behind Courtland Sutton, but Devaughn Vele certainly looks capable of handling the role.

This week against the Raiders, Vele was targeted a season-high nine times, catching six passes for 80 yards. It's his second game in a row with over 50 yards. He gets an enticing matchup against the Browns next weekend.

Noah Brown, Washington Commanders - 10% rostered

Noah Brown certainly looks like the No. 2 receiver in Washington right now. He has 60-plus yards three times in the past five games and was targeted 10 times against the Cowboys this week, catching six of those passes for 71 yards. His only touchdown this year coming on a Hail Mary gives me pause, but there's certainly some upside here.

Tre Tucker, Las Vegas Raiders - 4% rostered

It's tough to know what to think of Tre Tucker going forward. The Raiders sound like they'll turn to Desmond Ridder at quarterback with Gardner Minshew out, which certainly adds in a lot of uncertainty for the team. Ridder struggled when asked to enter this week's contest.

As for Tucker, he tied his season high in targets with eight this week but set his best mark of 2024 in yards, catching seven passes for 82 yards. Maybe Ridder will throw the ball Tucker's way. I wouldn't count on it, but he's worth a speculative add in 16-team leagues.

David Moore, Carolina Panthers - 0% rostered

David Moore might have been the biggest surprise of the week. After playing a small but steady role for the past three games, Moore was Carolina's biggest weapon in Week 12 as he was targeted 10 times, catching six passes for 81 yards and a score.

It was a strong game where quarterback Bryce Young worked hard to get the ball in Moore's hands. It's also really, really hard to trust this is more than a blip on the radar. I'll add him in 16-team leagues, but I just don't think Moore's the league winner that his Week 12 performance suggested he could be.
